A few days later, Amanda came. The day she arrived she went straight to the hospital to see me. She looked so different. She was lighter in complexion and she'd gone blonde. She was taller and prettier. She had come with her boyfriend, Mark. When she got to the hospital, she sat down beside my body and took my hand. She kissed it and looked at Mark with a hurt look in her eyes. "Mark, this is my sister, Caroline." Mark was a tanned guy with blonde hair and blue eyes. The white shirt he was wearing complimented his muscles. He walked over and sat next to Amanda. "Nice to meet you, Caroline. I'm Mark. I've heard so much about you." Amanda giggled and Mark flashed a smile.
Mark's smile faded away when he saw my parents walk in. The room was quiet for a while. Amanda broke the silence. "Mom, Dad, this is Mark. Mark, these are my parents, Harry and Linda." "Nice to meet you Mr. and Mrs. Singer." "Hello Mark," my mother said smiling. "Hi," my dad said and shook Mark's hand. "So Amanda, how long are you guys staying?" My mom asked as she sat down. "For a few months. We thought we could come and see you guys and see how Caro is doing." "Well I'm going to get something to eat from the cafeteria. Does anyone want anything?" My dad asked. "No thanks," Amanda replied. "I'll come with," Mark said. The two guys left. "How did this happen?" Amanda asked. "What?" "The accident." "Well she was jumping off a cliff when she missed the water and hit a rock." "What did the doctor say?" "He said that she could have serious brain damage and that her chances of surviving are slim."
Just then, dad and Mark walked in. They were having a conversation about sports. "Mark, we've got to get going now. Justin and Jazmyn are expecting us." "Amanda, why are you guys leaving so early? You guys just got here," my mom said. "Mom, I'm exhausted from the flight. I'll drop by tomorrow." Amanda gave my mom and dad a hug and left.
