I went to my house on the way to the hospital. I walked in and found my mother sitting on the couch looking at a photo album. Her brown skin was lighter than usual and she didn't have any makeup on. She was wearing sweat pants and a loose T-Shirt that said "Love." Her brown hair was tied in a bun. I walked into the living room and sat on a chair opposite of her. There were three photo albums on the table.

My father stood by the doorway looking at her with a concerned look on his face. "Hey," he said finally. "Hey," she replied. "How are you?" "Honestly, I'm horrible. I can't get over the fact that I'm going to bury my daughter. I always thought it would be the other way round." "I'm still in shock. Just seeing her lie on that bed lifeless makes my heartache." "I don't want to lose her, Harry. She's my little girl. Our other girl is all the way in Japan." "She called me earlier and said she'd be coming to see Caroline." "Good. I've got a headache so I'm gonna go and take a nap." "Ok." My dad left for the kitchen. I just sat there staring at the wall. Amanda's coming? This is great! The last time I saw her was two years ago. I stood up and left.
