Infected Secrets

The next morning arrived and Cedar awoke at 7:00 sharp to get ready for his first day of school with Tony.

"I can't believe this, we're living in a post-apocalyptic world and I still have to go to school". The young man groaned as he walked into the bathroom and changed into a gray shirt and gray camouflage pants.

"Cedar Dustin Baker, can kick Walker and Cordyceps ass but can't handle five hours of school". Owen teased, walking up behind his boyfriend and pulling his back against his chest.

"You keep doing that, I'm gonna be late". Cedar remarked, trying to pull away from the kisses Owen was laying against the side of his neck whilst trying to ignore the bulge against the back of his leg.

Owen smirked and gave Cedar one last kiss before walking out of the bathroom and heading downstairs to see him out.

"You gonna be okay while I'm gone?". Cedar asked, turning to look up at his boyfriend.

"I'll be fine, go get educated". Owen remarked with a smirk, placing one last kiss on Cedar's lips before heading back into the house.

"Where's James? I thought he was supposed to be helping out?". Cedar asked Tony once he walked into the school building.

"Maybe he took off on us". Luca remarked from where was sitting with Rio and Lev.

"I'll go look for him". Cedar volunteered, walking back outside before Tony could protest.

Cedar walked down to the very back of the community and jogged up the few steps to Jame's house. "James! Let's go!".

He waited a minute or two before carefully easing the front door open, holding back a laugh when he saw the tall and freshly shaved man promptly passed out on the couch.

Deciding against waking him up, Cedar carefully walked out of the house and shut the door behind him as he went back into the school - house.

"He's asleep, I didn't wanna wake him". Cedar announced as Tony just nodded and started off the first lesson of the day.

Twelve thirty eventually rolled around as the first day of school came to a successful close, "Did you hear about Iggy and Joel?". Luca whispered to Cedar as they walked into the dining hall.

"No, what happened?". Cedar whispered back as he heated up a can of Beefaroni and grabbed a cup of coffee.

"They broke up I guess". Luca revealed as heated up his own food and sat at one of the corner tables, with Ellie, Rio and Lev joining a minute later.

"You're joking". Cedar replied in disbelief.

"Nope, I guess Iggy was acting really weird and just took off his ring". Lev cut in.

"Joel got mad and stormed out of the dance hall". Ellie added on.

"How'd you three get wind of all this?". Cedar asked with a laugh.

"Joel's voice tends to carry when he's angry". Lev shrugged.

"Plus, we kinda eavesdropped". Rio remarked, scowling when Lev nudged him.

Cedar just shook his head in amusement, eating his meal in peace for another few minutes before the dining hall door opened to reveal an exhausted looking James.

"Tony told me you didn't show up to help him out with kids, what happened?". Tommy asked.

"I -". James nervously began to stutter.

"He was obviously exhausted and I didn't wanna wake him". Cedar cut in hurriedly.

"I - I'm sorry, I won't let it happen again". James replied, nervously twisting his hands as he looked at Tommy.
