Rosepetal and Stripes navigated the sacred temple's treacherous labyrinth. As they reached the inner sanctum, a hidden door swung open, revealing a chamber filled with deadly fog.
"Be cautious," Rosepetal warned, her voice low.
Stripes nodded, his ears perked up.
Suddenly, the floor gave way beneath them. They plummeted into darkness.
Time slowed.
Rosepetal's thoughts flashed to Stripes, her trusted companion, her friend.
No, more than that.
She realized her feelings, hidden beneath duty and loyalty.
As they fell, Stripes wrapped his body around hers, shielding her.
They landed hard on a hidden platform.
Dazed, Rosepetal gazed up at Stripes.
"Stripes...you saved me," Rosepetal whispered.
Stripes' eyes locked onto hers, filled with emotion.
The platform began to collapse.
As they leapt to safety, Stripes turned to Rosepetal.
"Rosepetal, I have to tell you..." Stripes' voice trembled.
The ground crumbled beneath them.
"We're not going to make it, are we?" Rosepetal whispered.
Stripes' gaze intensified.
"Rosepetal, I love you," Stripes confessed.
Rosepetal's eyes widened, shock washing over her.
"Stripes...I..." she stuttered.
The world around them faded.
Stripes' words hung in the air.
Rosepetal's heart racing.
