Rosepetal and Stripes tracked Nightshade to an abandoned alley.

Nightshade emerged from shadows, eyes gleaming.

"You're brave, Rosepetal," Nightshade said. "But foolish."

Rosepetal stood tall. "What do you want?"

Nightshade sneered. "Your coronation cancelled."

Stripes growled, but Rosepetal signaled him to wait.

"Tell me, Nightshade," Rosepetal said. "Who leads Shadow Claw?"

Nightshade's smile hinted at secrets.

"Meet me at the old windmill tomorrow," Nightshade whispered.

Then, Nightshade vanished into darkness.

Rosepetal turned to Stripes. "We have a lead."

Stripes nodded. "We'll uncover Shadow Claw's truth."

As they returned to the palace, the mysterious mew echoed again.

Rosepetal's ears perked. "That mew... it's familiar."

Stripes followed the sound to a hidden alcove.

A small, gray kitten emerged, eyes shining.

"Luna!" Rosepetal exclaimed, gently lifting Luna with her mouth.

Luna was Rosepetal's childhood friend, thought lost forever.

Rosepetal gently set Luna down.

"What are you doing here?" Rosepetal asked.

Luna meowed, as if sharing secrets.

Stripes's ears folded back. "Luna might know something."

Rosepetal nodded. "We'll ask her."

Luna's meows revealed she'd been tracking Nightshade.

"I overheard Nightshade talking to Raven," Luna said.

Rosepetal's ears twitched. "What did they say?"

Luna's voice trembled. "Raven plans to attack during your coronation."

Rosepetal's determination hardened.

"We won't let that happen," Stripes said.

With Luna's help, they now had a valuable ally.
