Rosepetal's coronation preparations progressed, with Stripes overseeing every detail.

One evening, as they strolled through the palace gardens, Stripes's ears perked up.

"Do you sense that?" he whispered.

Rosepetal followed his gaze. "What is it?"

Stripes's tail twitched. "A faint scent... unfamiliar. I'll investigate."

The next day, Stripes reported his findings. "Several palace guards have gone missing. I suspect internal unrest."

Rosepetal's ears folded back. "Gather more information."

Stripes nodded. "I'll discreetly inquire."

As they delved deeper, whispers of discontent reached their ears.

"...new queen, inexperienced..."

"... Stripe's influence..."

Rosepetal's confidence wavered, but Stripes reassured her.

"Your kindness and wisdom will unite our kingdom," he said.

That night, Rosepetal couldn't shake off the feeling of being watched.

She glimpsed a shadowy figure lurking in the palace corridors.

"Stripes," she called softly.

Stripes appeared, his eyes scanning the area.

"What did you see?" he asked.

Rosepetal hesitated. "Perhaps just my imagination."

But her expression hinted she knew more.
