Audrey's POV

I ran. My steps hit the pavement on a quick pace. I had created a small sweat; I guess vampires could sweat. I didn't usually run this fast but as a vampire it didn't matter. I could do this for hours before the endorphin would kick in. But I ran, I ran as fast as I could with only my human strength.

"You know you can't run away from your problems."

Josh jogged next to me. I glanced over at him with a deep frown. He had on a pair of sweat pants and a hoodie.

"Where are you staying?" I asked in between my breaths.

"Jeremy's room. I'm sure he doesn't mind as he is nowhere near Mystic Falls."

"Well I hope you got my twin's permission. If you didn't she'll throw you out," I replied with a wave of my ponytail. Josh shrugged and looked at me.

"She won't. I'm practically her brother," he said with a smirk.

I chuckled silently and started slowing down as we were getting closer to my house. Both Josh and I stopped immediately as we saw Liz Forbes standing on the porch. We frowned to each other and then walked over. The sheriff was already talking to Elena and Ric when we arrived.

"Hi?" I asked and stepped in to the concersation. "What's going on?"

Liz cleared her voice and glanced at me and Josh. "I assume you have heard about the murder of the medical assistent? He was murdered with one of your stakes and it had only Elena's fingerprints on it."

"What?" I laughed and glanced at Elena.

"Oh, I never thought of you as a killer Gilbert," Josh said with a wide smirk. I crossed my arms over my chest and agreeing with my brother.

"Yeah you never were the aggressive type, Elena." Josh and I laughed at the same time with the same type of laugh. Liz ogled us under her brows, but decided not to say anything.

"Hey this isn't funny," Ric said and looked at the two of us. We wiped the smiles off of our faces and nodded. I cleared my voice. Josh tried the same but burst to a tiny laughter.

"It's a little funny," I whispered.

Elena snorted and turned on her heels. "It's not funny!"

After the jog I went straight to the shower. I dressed up, did my hair, and my makeup. I finally felt good, after a long time of just feeling miserable.

I walked down stairs after hearing Elena talking to Damon on the phone. I needed to get to the bottom of this. I trusted Damon not to do anything with Elena, but I didn't trust Elena.

"She doesn't think that I did it. She's just trying to find out why somebody used one of my family weapons to kill a council member." Elena rolled her eyes and I walked over to the table.

"Well why don't you just ask Ric if his dirty little doctor had access to the weapons."

"You're on speaker phone, dick," Ric replied which made me laugh. The two noticed me and smiled. Ric wider than Elena.

"Is that Audrey I hear? Anyway, I'm just sayin' first suspects usually the right one. Don't get so defensive."

"Brian Walters was killed days ago, alright? I didn't show Meredith this stuff until last night!" Ric nearly shouted.

"It wasn't Meredith," I said strictly. "I refuse to believe that Ric's luck with women is that tragic."

"But Brian Walters was her ex-boyfriend and Ric saw them fighting that night," Damon said with the kind of tone he used every time he knew he was right but had to defend it.
