Chapter Fifteen: No More Closets

{Lukes p.o.v}

I walk back into the house after Ren's date with Ashton. She still seemed very perky so I guess things ended well. We discuss dinner and what movie we should watch. After we watched a few episodes of HIMYM I go into the kitchen and make the mac and cheese we compromised on. I pour the box into the bubbling water setting a timer for eight minuets. I take the pasta out dumping it into a strainer. I realized it was 6:00 and Bella had not returned. I grab two bowls from the cabinet and mix the cheese into the noodles.

Bella walks in the door at 6:12 just as Ren and I sat to eat. I turn around to say hello my jaw dropping in shock and Renny's joining shortly after.

"What" Bella says

"Oh nothing except your hair is fricking purple" I say trying not to freak out.

"OH MY GOD I LOVE IT" Ren screams right next to my ear.

"Thanks" she replies so casually.

I swear this is what having a teenage daughter is like. She pushes my limits to the brink of insanity and acts like she did nothing. I try to calm myself I really was not in the mood to lecture or argue. After having my car break down about not coming out I figured I should start telling people I was gay. Starting with my inner most circle of friends and family, Bella and Renny.

"Hey guys I was wondering if we could talk about cute relationships and dating in general, I feel like it would be fun. Maybe like a game of confessions like things we secretly wish to have in a relationship." I say my heart beating out of my chest.

"Uhhg is this just so you can lecture me, again. I swear I'll use protection." Ren groans.

"No I want to just talk like friends, about crushes and stuff" I say feeling my cheeks fluster as Ren and Bella let out simultaneous 'ooouuuhhhhss'.

"Okay fine, this sounds fun." Bella says plopping down next to me.

"Not yet missy you are going to eat a proper dinner." I say remembering Bella has probably eaten next to nothing.

"What the heck no I ate with mic-my-myself." Bella awkwardly stutters.

I could tell she was lying. I get up and make a third bowl putting her lap. She gives me a glare but begins pushing the food around. I knew I hadn't won that battle because she hadn't actually put a fork full in her mouth but I would like to consider it as Luke: .5 Bella: 0. We form and circle of three which looked more like a triangle but fit the purpose.

"Are we ready to begin" I say filling the silence and shaking off the little dispute that occurred.

"Yes" Ren says overly perky clearly trying to make Bella smile again. Her attempt failed but Bella let out a mumbled sure.

"So how is this going to work?" I ask.

"How about we state a question and we go around and answer it, honestly but you only have to answer the question so if it's not specific you don't have to say. Also you get two passes." Ren says back.

"Great, Luke you first" Bella says.

"Okay let's start simple do you have a crush?" I ask being careful of my words I wasn't ready to come out in the first round, which is why I didn't ask who.

"Yes" Ren says.

"Yes" Bella says. Both of their eyes are fixated on me waiting for my response.

I take a deep breath before saying "yes"

"Okay my turn" Ren says "Where would your perfect first date be?"

"Hmm that's hard, depends on the person. Maybe a café?" I say just picking a random peaceful place.

"Uhh I guess somewhere fun, or like something spontaneous." Bella says finally loosening up.

"My perfect first date would be on the couch" Ren says finishing the round. I brace myself for the next question I knew Bella's would be hard for me to answer.

"Would this date be with a boy or a girl, or both I'm not a hater," Bella says.

I take a deep breath there is no turning back. I would never forgive myself if I didn't take this opportunity. Also if I pass they would be able to tell, they aren't dumb.

"A boy at the moment" Ren answers clearly talking about Ashton but I wasn't supposed to know that.

"I-I umm okay" I pause "probablyaboy" I say super fast.

"What Luke slow down." Bella says.

"Sorry, I said probably a boy" This time saying it slowly with way more confidence.

"Okay cool mine would be a boy at the moment too, tripletsys" Bella says in her most white girl voice. "Next question" she adds looking at me.

"Wait that's it" I say shocked.

"What do you mean" Ren says.

"I mean you are not mad or confused or yelling at me calling me a sinner." I say causing both girls to laugh.

"Are you kidding me Lucas we would never do that (a/n never do that, just saying.... I'll leave) , You are so much more then a sexual orientation." Bella says

"Yea I mean look at me I am a sexuality mystery, we would love you no matter what you liked." Ren says.

"Yea except if you liked cats in a sexual way we may question your morals but we would still love you." Bella adds.

     They wrap me in a warm hug and I feel a few tears slide down my cheek. I felt so relived and light, but this was only the beginning. I still had to tell several people some who may not be as accepting. After the hug session is over its my turn to ask a question. I think before asking. The cliché sleepover question comes to my mind and out of my mouth.......
