"battle of new york"

"Guys." Natasha said gaining Anastasia's attention causing her to look up at the sky. She watched as more and more creatures flew out of the whole.

"Call it, Captain." Tony said.

"All right, listen up." Steve said, explaining the plan. "Until we can close that portal, our priority is containment. Barton, I want you on that roof. Eyes on everything. Call out patterns and strays. Stark, you got the perimeter. Anything gets more than three blocks out, you turn it back or you turn it to ash."

"Can you give me a life?" Clint asked Tony.

"Right." Tony responded. "Better clench up, Legolas." They then flew off to do their respected duties.

Steve turned to the rest of them before speaking again, "Thor, you got it try and bottleneck that portal. Slow them down. You got the lightning. Light the bastards up." Thor then flew off. Steve turned to Natasha and Anastasia. "Us three, we stay here on the ground. We keep the fighting here. And Hulk... smash."

Anastasia ran up the street, finding creatures to fight. She slashed at them with knives as they continued to pass. She pulled her gun out every once in a while to shoot some that were farther away.

The girl hid behind a taxi car, raising her gun to get ready to shoot when she needed to. As creatures continued to pop up in all directions around her, she shot them. Eventually then jumping back up to stab one that jumped upon the taxi she was hiding behind.

Natasha ran up behind the dark haired girl, helping her defeat the creatures that were around them. Soon enough, Steve jumped down beside the two.

"Captain, none of this is going to mean a damn thing if we don't close that portal." Natasha said.

Steve spoke, "Our biggest guns couldn't touch it."

Anastasia came to a realization, "Well, maybe it's not about guns." Natasha nodded at the girl's words as she understood what she was saying.

"If you two want to get up there. you're going to need a ride." Steve said.

"We got a ride," Natasha said pulling Anastasia along. "We could use a boost though.

"Are you sure about this?" Steve asked.

"No!" Anastasia shouted as Natasha spoke, "Yeah, it's gonna be fun."

Natasha ran up to Steve before jumping on a car then jumping on his shield to be able to attach herself to one of the flying alien jets. Anastasia quickly followed suit as she did the exact same thing, following behind the redhead. Anastasia was able to quickly take control of her alien jet by kicking off the alien on it. She continued to follow Natasha to Stark Tower.

Looking behind her, she noticed Loki following the two. He tried to shoot at both of them though they continued to dodge them. She could hear as Natasha called Clint for help before he exploded Loki's alien jet.

Natasha and Anastasia both then jumped down from theirs to land on Stark Tower. The two walked up to the machine holding the tesseract.

"The scepter..." A voice said from behind them.

"Doctor." Natasha said in recognition at the sight of Dr. Erik Selvig.

"Loki's scepter. The energy." Dr. Selvig said. "The tesseract can't fight but you can't protect against yourself."

"It's not your fault." Anastasia reassured. "You didn't know what you were doing." She felt as if she saw herself him in. The fear in his eyes reflected hers. It felt as if she was taking to a mirror.

"Actually, I think I did." Dr. Selvig said. "I built in a safety to cut their power source."

"Loki's scepter." Natasha said in realization.

"It may be able to close the portal." He explained. "And I'm looking right at it."

Natasha and Anastasia quickly came back with the scepter.

"Right at the crown," Dr. Selvig pointed. Natasha then pointed the scepter at the tesseract and inserted it into the barrier surrounding it.

"I can close it." Natasha said. "Can anybody copy? I can shut the portal down."

"Do it!" Steve shouted.

"No, wait." Tony then said.

"Stark, these things are still coming," Steve said.

"I got a nuke coming in." Tony explained. "It's gonna blow in less than a minute."

Anastasia watched from Stark Tower as Tony flew up with the nuke into the portal above them. She watched and waited for him to come back through the portal. The creatures all collapsed around them, but she continued to looking at the sky.

"Come on, Stark." Natasha said from beside her.

"Close it." Steve said causing Natasha to push the scepter to touch the tesseract. Anastasia watched as the portal closed and then watched as Tony Stark fell from the sky.

Tony was fine but they weren't done yet.

"If it's all the same to you, I'll have that drink now." Loki said as they all stood in front of him. They all continued to stand there. As one. As a team. As the Avengers.
