Mikey had just stepped out of April's building. He hadn't realized he wasn't wearing his hoodie until someone pointed at him.
"Look it's one of those Turtles!" Some girl shouted. Mikey realized people were looking at him, and he slowly pulled his hoodie up so the other people turning to face couldn't see him.
Almost instantly he was swarmed by the turtle's new fans. Bombarded with question. "How did you stop the Aliens?", "Are any of you single?" Someone asked. "We're the rest of you?".
Many of them similar to those as Mikey attempted hiding his face more by pulling the hood down further. He backed into a alleyway, he was trapped. He couldn't go into the sewers now. They'll chase him. He noticed a ladder leading to the roofs.
It was too high to reach or to jump to. Perfect. Mikey reached for his Kusari-fundo swinging it around. This allowed him some space from the crowd to swing it up, the flame igniting. It successfully wrapped around the ladder as he swung himself up. Grabbing onto the ladder, and hauling himself up.
The crowd below watched on in awe of what they just saw. Maybe the weapon had just saved him. It certainly made the crowd back up, for who in their right mind would run towards a weapon on fire?
He hear a few of these newfound fans squeal with what? Fear? Excitement? Humans were strange. He popped his head over the railway. "No further questions!" He announced, before climbing onto the roofs.
He'd always wanted to say that. He'd watched celebrities say it on camera, but it was all too much for him. Too many people around him asking him things all at once. He now understood. So much had changed. Mikey ran across the rooftops, he was about to jump down into an empty alleyway when he noticed the sun set.
He hadn't had the chance to enjoy a sunset too many times before. Maybe this was a sign? Barry always talked about signs... Or was it symbolism? Who could tell? The small turtle sat on the edge of the roof, and watched in silence as the sun slowly crept from the sky.
It was beautiful, the sunset completely illuminated the sky, bright shades of orange slowly fading to pink, to purple as the sunset drew on. It was peaceful, Mikey almost forgot he was in a city. The sun disappeared behind some buildings, as the night sky settled in.
How long had be been out? Once the sky turned dark Mikey checked the perimeter to make sure it was clear. Before slipping into the sewers below.
Surely Donnie and Raph had noticed his absence by now. He'd been gone all day. The small turtle quietly slipped into the Lair, almost colliding with Raph, who had his arms crossed over his plastron.
"Where have you been?" He asked, Mikey could tell he was trying to come off as fierce, but his worried nature slipped in. "Mikey, you've been gone all day! Where were you?!" His desperation slowly seeping into his tone.
Mikey looked at his older brother. He'd gone for a walk in New York. But he couldn't say that, Raph hated when Mikey was alone. Gee, it was a nightmare to convince him to let Mikey go on his first solo mission. Leo had- oh. He didn't want to think about Leo currently, but he did want to quickly visit.
Mikey looked at his older brother, trying to look as innocent as possible "I went to clear my head" He said truthfully. Raph raised a non existent eyebrow. His mask raising in its place.
"And where was this 'space' that you went to? Hm?" He poked. Mikey pushed pass him he was tired and wanted to see Leo. He hadn't visited today. Why was Raph so protective anyway? Mikey could take care of himself he wasn't five years old.
Raph grabbed his wrist, his hand enclosing Mikey's entire wrist trapping him. "Mikey. Tell me now" he pushed further.
"I went to April's okay Raph! I went out on my own, I walked through New York alone! It's not like you would care" he mumbled that last part.
