Mikey was sitting in the centre of the living room, Draxum was in the process of drawing a ritual circle around him.
"Now I want you to focus Michelangelo, you need to concentrate on your energy and chanel it into power. Emotions can be great tools as well." Draxum began once he finished his circle of symbols.
Mikey sat in the centre of the ritual circle, on his knees as he had been instructed to do. Draxum had decided to start immediately after his joke about the pizza.
"Now, close your eyes and focus on what it is you want to do, I've given you a simple objective for now. Can you try and make the furniture float?" Mikey close his eyes, he didn't see how making the furniture float was easy. But Barry was doing this out of the goodness in his heart (that Mikey had taught him).
Mikey began to envision the furniture around him hovering a few inches above the floor. He didn't think that it had to be floating in mid air, just high enough off the ground to show Barry he could do it.
New sensations flooded his body, those similar to when he opened the portal... But not as powerful and as painful. Warmth filled his body, settling around his heart and chest area, and occasionally spreading to other parts of his body.
He felt the floor move away, and he soon felt like he was in his own world. One where he could float. Distant triumphant laughter slowly filled the space, growing louder as Mikey lost his concentration.
He opened one eye to see half of the furniture floating. "Well, done Michelangelo, good job! The meditation has worked!" Mikey heard Barry say, "now try and gently lower it back down".
Mikey envisioned the furniture gently floating back down. But he was tired. Instead he was greeted with thuds as the furniture dropped instead. Mikey opened both eyes to see the furniture ascue across the apartment.
Some legs of chairs had even gone through the floor. Draxum groaned and mumbled something as he stood up to fix the mess Mikey had caused.
"I'm sorry Barry..." Mikey tried as Draxum waved him off.
"It's ok, you probably exhausted yourself I did say that your mystic energy would've taken a toll after that portal. That's on me" Mikey had never heard Draxum admit his mistakes he'd usually try and push the blame onto someone else.
Maybe those sessions with doctor feelings had finally paid off.
"I do have a theory as to why you were able to open that portal though." This caught Mikey's attention, "you said you'd tried to open a portal before the sacrifice correct?"
"That's right, once when Casey told me about future me sending him back in time. The second was when me and Donnie where trapped in the Turtle Tank." Mikey was curious as to what Barry's theory was.
"Hmm, I believe that you only manage to open the portal to save Leo because you had an emotion response, and anchor." Emotional anchor? What what's that?
"What do you mean by 'emotional anchor' Draxum?"
"I mean, you really had something to focus all of that energy onto, a key point in time and space, even though it was in another plane of dimension. A person or maybe in some cases could be an object that was the place you really wanted to get to, where your energy flowed towards." Barry finished.
It did make sense Mikey never really had a person or place he'd been trying to reach the other two times he'd tried. "So you mean to tell me, that because I had a really strong emotion at the time, as was able to chanel the right amount of energy needed for the portal?"
"Yes." Draxum confirmed,
"And because I had an anchor to chanel my undivided focus to I was able to open the portal? That's what your saying?" To Mikey it make complete, but at the same time, no sense.
