Chapter Thirty Two

Slade jumped from the booth and down onto the field only a few feet away from me. I reached for a gun and he tsked walking closer to me.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you Emma." he said taking another step toward me.

"Why not?"

"Because I know for a fact you love your so called 'family'. It was very kind of you take in two orphans by the way."

My eyes widened and I could tell he was smirking under his helmet. He motioned to the gumbo tron and I glanced over at it to see the boys tied up with gags in their mouths.

I though he said there were no hostages...

"The Red Hood isn't really that much if a threat. Especially when immobilized." Slade stated making me even angrier.

"What did you do to them!?"

"Relax Nuit. He's simply out of the way, and your so called 'sons', will be fine as long as you cooperate."

"...What do you want?"

He paused and twirled his sword. "Revenge."

"Ooh... Never heard that one before." I mumbled under my breath.

"I see you really haven't changed Nuit. Your still an insufferable brat with a big mouth."

"I didn't know you could still see. I though someone would have shot you in the other eye by now."

He growled and pointed the end of his sword toward my throat. "And I thought someone would have killed you, but I'm glad they didn't. Because now I get to do it myself."

((Red Hood/Jason's POV))

I groaned and shook my head slightly trying to clear up my vision. I heard a few muffled shouts and forced my head up to look at Cain and Haden.

They were tied and gaged and looked scared out of their minds. I tried to move but my wrist were cuffed together behind a pipe and my ankles were tied.

"Don't worry guys. I've gotten out of cuffs before." I mumbled trying to free myself.

I still felt lightheaded and extremely weak but I kept trying.

"What the hell did he hit me with? A bus?" I muttered angrily feeling weaker by the second.

"Jason!? Can you hear me!?"

Dick?

I pressed myself into the pipe more to hit the button on my communicator.

"Yeah..."

"Where are you!? And the where's the boys!?"

"They're still with me uh... but we were kinda... captured by Slade. He hit me with something and I... I..." I started to black out again.

"Jason!! Jason stay awake!! I need to know where you are!"

"I don't... know."

"I'll track you just stay awake alright!? I'm on my way!!"

I glanced up at the boys again giving them an extremely weak smile. "We'll be okay..."

My eyes started to droop and my body sagged. I shook my head to try to stay conscious but it was no use. I blacked out.

I heard faint muffled voices and felt a sharp stinging sensation on my face. My eyes snapped open and I sat up from the floor holding my cheek.

"Was it really necessary to slap him?" Haden chirped.

I glared at Dick and rubbed the red hand print on my face.

"He probably deserves it for something." Cain mumbled.

"Where's Emma?" Dick asked ignoring the two boys.

"What do you mean?"

"She's not here!?"

Dick stood up quickly and I could tell he was panicking. "This was a distraction! Emma's with Slade!"

"What!?"

"Jason take the boys to the manor they'll be safest there." He instructed making his way to the exit. "I'm going to save Em."

((Emma's POV))

I coughed up some blood onto the field and tried to push myself back up.

"You never give up do you?" Slade growled stepping on my back and forcing me back to the ground.

"And you never shut up." I quipped trying to conceal a groan of pain.

He chuckled a little and kicked me hard in the stomach making me slide backwards. "Look who's talking."

I hissed in pain and he yanked my head up by my hair. "I hope this hurts."

He grabbed his sword starting to press it into my throat when he was tackled to the ground. As he fell his sword slid down my throat leaving a long burning scratch that lead down to my chest.

I collapsed back onto the ground clamping a hand over my bloody throat.

"Emma!?" Someone dropped down beside me and I glanced up to see Dick.

"How-?" I turned my head toward the sound of metal clashing to see Slade and Damian.

"How dare you hurt my sister!!" Damian shouted angrily clashing swords with Slade again.

"Come on let's get you out of here." Dick said helping me to my feet.

"Not so fast." Slade growled. I heard a gun being cock and turned slowly to see he held a struggling Damian in a headlock. He pressed the gun to his head and I turned completely around with wide fearful eyes.

I could tell he was pleased and before I could blink, the hand that held the gun whipped up and fired.

"NO!!!" I heard Dick and Damian scream at the same time.

I removed a hand from my stomach to see it coated in blood. I glared up at Slade with tear filled eyes. "You bastard..."

My knees gave out from under me and I felt myself fall as I blacked out.

Beep... beep... beep... beep...

I groaned and slowly worked my eyes open. I looked up at the white wash ceiling and sighed.

I'm back in a hospital...

I weakly turned my head to the side to see Dick clutching my hand and staring at the floor.

"D-Dick." I croaked making his puffy red eyes snap upwards.

I gave him a weak smile and he practically jumped on top of me. I winced slightly but he did't seem to notice and continued to hold me tightly.

He finally straightened up and I frown seeing tears still rolling down his cheeks.

"What?"

He shook his head and more tears came streaming down his face. "It's my fault."

"What is?" I asked. My eyes widened in realization and I felt my now flat stomach. "No... NO!"

I felt tears start to rush down my face and I bolted upright making little beepers go off.

"NOO!" I screeched.

Doctors came running in and ushered Dick out, while trying to shove me back down onto the bed. I thrashed and kicked and sobbed finally waring myself out and letting them reattach everything and sedate me.

I covered my face with my hands and continued to sob quietly as the doctors started to leave.

I'm going to kill Slade!!... No... I'm going to make him wish he was fucking dead.
