It's been nearly two weeks since my encounter with Nightwing, and Robin and I'm still not sure if I dreamt the whole thing up or not.
I let out a tired sigh and rested my head on my hand. I've also been going out at night for the past two weeks tracking the Joker and the other villains that escaped Arkham, so I'm a little sleepy.
"Ms. Tyson!"
I snapped fully awake and looked at the teacher that was glaring at me.
"Yes?"
"Are you sleeping in my class?"
"No sorry just got lost in thought." I muttered.
"Well maybe you would like to share what you were thinking about?"
"Uh... I'd rather listen to your lecture sir."
He gave me another glare but turned back to the board and continued on with the lesson.
I still felt people's eyes on me and started fiddling with my newly fixed glasses. A message popped up in front of my eyes and I stared at it in shock.
'I know what you've been doing, and you need to stop before you get hurt. btw your not the only one who can hack a network.'
I blinked a few times and reread the message. It must be Nightwing or Robin. The bell rang and I quickly got out of my seat and headed to my locker.
I put my combo in and swung it open so the keyboard of my laptop flipped down. I stashed my books inside and waited a few minuets for most people in the hall to go to the cafeteria.
Once almost everyone left, I started typing some codes to trace the frequency used to send me the message. Once I found it I downloaded it onto my phone as well as my glasses.
I grabbed my bag and slammed my locker shut before heading upstairs.
'Who is this? And what exactly have I been doing? Btw yeah I know how to trace things as well.'
I typed the message and sent it before heading inside the packed cafeteria. I noticed a small table in the back and made my way there in silence. My phone buzzed repeatedly in my pocket but I waited till I was seated and got my lunch out to read the text.
'You know exactly who I am, and I thought I told you to leave it to the professionals.'
'So it is you. And no offence but you weren't exactly professional when you nearly got blown to bits.'
I didn't even have time to set my phone down before it vibrated again.
'I saw the bomb!'
'Sure you did.'
'Just stop going after them. You'll get hurt.'
I turned my phone off and put it back in my pocket, before starting to eat.

"Goodnight Uncle Stan." I mumbled heading up toward the attic.
"Going to bed already? You aren't getting sick are ya?" he asked looking at me sceptically, "Cause I'm too old to get sick, and your dad isn't coming to get ya for another two weeks."
"No I'm not sick I just have some homework to finish and some other things."
"All right I'll tell your aunt when she gets back from Gretchen's house."
I nodded before heading upstairs with one of the dogs, Duke. I sat on my bed and cracked my laptop open. I know I was told not to go after them but...
I scolded myself mentally as I hacked back into the Gotham police system. I started scanning the updates on the joker when my computer crashed and blacked out.
"What the f?" I cursed slapping the keyboard.
"No need to get hostile."
I jumped and glared at the screen. None other then Nightwing was looking back with a smug look on his face, "I can trace too you know."
"Why the hell are you in my computer?"
"To keep you safe Emma."
"How do you know my name!?"
"I told you I could trace. Besides it was pretty easy to find you in the system."
I rolled my eyes and sighed, "At least let me help you. I can track them and keep you posted on where they are and where they'll strike next-!"
"I can do that myself." he said loosing his more friendly exterior.
"But-"
"It's too dangerous for someone like you-"
"Someone like me!?" I exclaimed cutting him off, "What's that supposed to mean!?"
"You don't have the training or skills like I do." he paused and ran a hand through his hair, "It's not just me who's concerned, it's Robin and Batman too... it's our job to protect the citizens of Gotham but if your out there chasing criminals! You don't know how to handle yourself against these maniacs!"
"Then teach me."
"What?"
"Teach me how to handle them. Teach me to be like you."
He shook his head and sighed.
"I'm just going to keep going out anyway, so I suggest if you want to keep me safe, you better teach me."
He glared at me and I just shrugged, "I guess my death will forever weigh on your shoulders. I hope you enjoy the feeling of guilt."
I started to close my laptop when he muttered a wait. I reopened it fully and a wave of excitement washed over me.
He sighed and rubbed the back of his neck before speaking, "Meet me on Gotham bridge tomorrow night at ten thirty, your training starts then."
"It's a date." I closed my laptop firmly and laid back on my bed with a triumphed smile.
I'm going to be a superhero!
