Brothers for life (S4 spoilers!)

Okay before you read on, MASSIVE OBX4 SPOILERS BELOW!!!!!!!

Okay, I have watched OBX 4 and wish I never ever did because what the hell was that ending?! They actually had the audacity to kill off JJ, and in that way too?! Chandler Groff I hope you die a slow and painful death because you deserve it SO much.

I will never forgive the writers for killing him off, especially now I've learnt that this was planned from the beginning. They were always planning on killing him off and that breaks something inside of me.

Anyways, I got to thinking, and I'm sorry but John B should've been with JJ at the end - not Kiara. I know what they were going for with Kie being there, but it would've meant more being John B, especially after everything he and JJ had been through together throughout their lives.

I had to write this, so here's an AU of "What if John B was there at the end instead of Kiara"

"JJ?"

John B watched closely as the look on JJ's face turned from one of relief to one of anger, and John B couldn't blame him in the slightest for the look. After a moment, JJ turned to face his Dad, and John B's heart began pounding in his chest. He made sure to keep a close eye on Groff as father and son faced each other - He didn't trust the older man at all.

"It's - It's a shame," Groff breathed, and John B had a hard time figuring out if he actually looked sad or if he was just putting it on. "You and me."

John B too a singular step forward.

JJ and Chandler stared at each other for a moment, neither saying a word, before the unthinkable happened.

John B heard the sound before he realised what had happened, and it was a sound he would never, ever forget.

He wanted to throw up, he wanted to move, but he found his feet glued to the floor, unable to tear his eyes from the scene in front of him.

JJ choked instantly, eyes wide, all of a sudden unable to breathe and when he looked down it was to see his own father's knife embedded in his side. The whole blade had disappeared, and it sounded awful even to his own mind, but he could feel every inch of it.

He looked back up at his Dad, a loud ringing in his ear preventing him from concentrating on whatever he said next, but John B heard it loud and clear.

"You should have given me..." Groff paused, twisting the knife cruelly before pushing it further into JJ's side, and the noise that JJ made after this snapped John B out of his trance. "The rope..."

He ripped the knife from his son, and John B ran at him.

He screamed, a loud, pain-filled, angry scream as he tackled Groff to the ground, hands instantly going to his throat as the knife flew from the older's hand.

John B stared into the man's eyes as he strangled him, determined to end his life if it was the last thing he ever did, but something distracted him in the end, and it was a loud thud as JJ hit the floor behind him.

Removing his hands he spun around, choking at the sight of his best friend, lent against a low wall, hands holding his side in exactly the same place as he had been injured by Groff last time, and in that split second John B forgot about the older man and rushed to JJ.

Falling to his knees between JJ's outstretched legs, John B's eyes filled with tears. "No, No," He whispered, voice choked, barely even aware as Groff stood and made a run for it. "It's okay. It's okay." His full attention was on JJ and JJ only.
