Her piercing screams struck each inch of Anakin's being, the ear-splitting shouts of desperation feeling so real and palpable. They were in reach, so close yet too far to do anything to stop the sound; he was helpless, but forced to watch painfully as her breath quickened and cry's loudened.Odessa was gripping firmly onto something, her head lying back further into the compress as her screams rang through the blinding white room. Sweat gleamed across her frail and pale skin, her eyes sullen and heavy as tears too drenched her cheeks.
She let out an exhausted cry "Ani!"
The room began to get smaller and smaller as his vision thinned "Ani please!"
The light drained from her eyes as her brunette locks fell onto the bed, alongside her head now limp to the side, her lips trembled as she pushed out half hearted words through shaky breath "Anakin I-"
Anakin gasped awake.
His eyes blinked hectically out of his heavy sleep, his gaze meeting the soft and delicate face of Odessa, pushed up closely to his side. Relief filled his own body, seeing her chest rising and falling simultaneously whilst her screams and shouts echoed in his mind. Whilst he unwrapped his own hand from her waist, Anakin pushed the covers further up her relaxant and unmoving body. He had always thanked the idea that she slept better than he did, especially after the months of nightmares she too experienced after being held captive by count Dooku. Anakin's torment always followed him however; and fear always plagued his mind.
This was no ordinary nightmare. Anakin had leant his lesson to not listening to his visions; the consequences being something that altered the rest of her life. Their life was finally beginning to full into place, and he wasn't going to let it all be taken from him again. Anakin had watched her breath hitch and still, her eye close shut, and that was enough for him to know that he would do everything in his power to prevent it.
He trailed out of bed, throwing a robe over his bear chest with an ease, the glints of sweat gleaming against his skin shining naturally in the moonlight. His head was filled with so many thoughts that haunted his mind, his hand rubbing his jaw anxiously as flashes of Odessa's pained expression rang through his head. She had died, she was dying, she was going to die-
"Anakin." The soft voice interrupted his thoughts, Odessa's figure walking hesitantly onto the balcony with furrowed eyes. She wrapped her arms around one another, hair spread out into natural curls as a sign she had just woken up. Concern dripped from her tone, her husbands erratic actions and stiff posture being evidence enough that she had a bad nightmare again; but this time it felt different "What's the matter my love?"
