Sheetal was appalled to learn that her friends Fareeha and Sarfaraz were missing from her Sangeet function. When Sarfaraz texted her that he would be jetting off to Mumbai, she informed him that Fareeha wasn't found anywhere. He seemed unbothered and replied he didn't know, and she wasn't with him. Concerned, Sheetal began to inquire about her.

Early morning, after prayer and shower, Fareeha dressed in her best red palazzo suit, then placed the organza pink dupatta around her back and tugged it on her hands. Keeping her hair open, she kept a few on her shoulder and remaining on her back. Nude lipstick and light Kohl and applied some perfume. She grabbed her bag and phone and then walked out of the room.

Taking a cab, she called the number her parents shared with her. There was a quick response from the other side. A friendly voice greeted her, confirming their meeting point.

Fareeha got out of the cab and walked into the café. Nervously, she looked around for a man in a mint green shirt. Finally, she spotted him. Almas had shared the photo with her so it was easier. Fareeha didn't cover the dark patch around her eyes reminiscence of her crying the entire night, because she wanted Imtiaz to see the real her. She didn't have any option, but a major part of her heart wished he accepts her.

Enough of running behind ungrateful people. Enough of downgrading herself in front of prospective men for marriage. Once and for all, she needed her parents to stop belittling her for not being chosen.

Feeling her chest heavy, Fareeha let out a shaky breath. Tugging her organza dupatta around her wrist, she walked confidently to the table. The fairly good-looking man rose from his seat, looking kindly at her.

"Salam." He gave his hand.

Fareeha nodded, - "Salam."

Imtiaz smiled, retracting his hand. He hastened and pulled the chair for her. Gracefully, she sat down. Keeping her expectations very low.

"Thank you." She muttered.

He sat opposite her and placed his entwined fingers on the table. Fareeha's gaze flickered to his fiddling thumbs.

"I am sorry, I am a little—nervous." He said, shifting the salt and pepper glass containers.

Fareeha found it odd for a man to be anxious. But why would she be? She has no say.

"Why, why should you be nervous?" She asked, placing her hand on the table.

He smiled, fixing his hair from back, - "Sorry—you are gorgeous— you take my breath away." Imtiaz casually complimented. Fareeha flinched back, looking blankly at him. For the first time, someone had noticed that her in the first meet.

She lowered her head, placing the fork a little to the side.

"Um, should we order something?"

"Yeah?" She shrugged, tugging her hair behind her left ear, and smiled a little.
