EVAN POV:

"Where do they keep them?" I muttered mostly to myself as I searched through the various crates and drawers of parts scattered across the shelves.

I had removed the Damaged parts from Gem's neck. And was ready to replace them. If I could find the replacements. Whoever last worked this job clearly didn't care much for organisation, or labels for that matter.

"Minireena Parts are kept over here." I heard Mimi say from somewhere nearby. Looking over I saw her sitting on the edge of the highest shelf on a rack that had a bunch of smaller tubs and drawers of parts on it.

"Oh, Thanks Mimi." I replied as I walked over to said shelf and began to look through the boxes on it. I get the feeling it's gonna take me a bit to get used to the layout of this place.

"Hey, Can I ask you something?" Mimi said as she climbed down the shelf to sit on the one I was looking through.

"Go for it." I replied as I found a drawer which looked to contain the parts I was searching for.

"What's with the Goggles?" She asked as she reached over and flicked the rim of said item lightly, producing a metallic ding sound. "None of our previous Technicians have ever worn them."

"Well, I have poor eyesight in my right eye." I began to answer as I started grabbing the parts I needed. "And while my glasses would work fine for larger repairs. I need these for smaller repairs that require more precision. Like you and your sisters."

"Oh, did you always have bad eyesight?" She asked with a tilt of her head.

"No. It happened after an accident a few years ago from what I was told." I said as I recited what I knew about what happened. Making sure I didn't also accidentally reveal my situation. "Unfortunately I don't actually know what happened, I was told it was a fire. But it left me with poor vision in my right eye. And some memory issues."

"Sounds rough." She hummed with a sympathetic look on her face.

"It is what it is." I said with a shrug as I gathered up the last of the parts needed to fix Gem. "Alright that's everything I needed. Let's get your sister fixed."

Mimi didn't give a verbal response as she jumped from the shelf. Before running over to the bench her sister was laying deactivated on. And made a pretty impressive leap up to the top of it to sit next to her sister.

It took me roughly an hour to get Gem repaired. With her being so small I had to be careful with what I was doing. And eventually I got to a point where I had to remove her chest and upper back casing to get easier access to her internal wiring.

Thankfully I had Mimi there to partially undress Gem for me so I could get access to remove her casing. I didn't quite feel comfortable doing so myself. There was just something in the back of my mind that was telling me that, Animatronic or not, it wasn't right for me to do that.

It was slow going to get it done. But eventually though I was able to finish fixing her without anything going wrong. Although I did get a little side-tracked when I found a clogged fluid hose in her neck, which I quickly replaced before I finished.

"And... There." I said as I finished reattaching her back casing. "She's all fixed now. All that's left is to power her on. Once you get her re-dressed that is."

"You're Weird." Mimi said randomly as I went to start cleaning up while she dressed her sister.

"Pardon?" I asked as I looked at her with a furrowed brow.

"You're not like other Technicians we've had." She reiterated as she did up the neck wrap of Gem's leotard before hopping off the bench and starting to walk circles around my legs. "You're... Different."
