Taehyung sat on the couch, watching his favorite cartoon.
Jin walked in, a warm smile on his face. "Baby, did you take a shower?"
Taehyung shook his head, not tearing his eyes from the screen. "No, Dad."
Jin's smile faltered. "Come on, let's get you cleaned up."
Taehyung rolled his eyes, his voice laced with teenage annoyance. "Dad, stop treating me like a kid. I'm seventeen."
Jin's expression softened, a hint of sadness creeping in. He remembered when Taehyung would eagerly await their bath time rituals, giggling and splashing in the tub.
Now, his little boy was growing up.
Jin sighed, trying to hide the pang in his heart. "Okay, okay. You're a big boy now."
Taehyung nodded, still focused on the TV.
Jin hesitated, then sat beside him, wrapping an arm around his shoulders.
Taehyung leaned into the embrace, and Jin's heart swelled.
Jin's voice cracked as he spoke, his eyes misting. "Taehyung, I don't treat you like a grown-up because I don't want you to become older. You're my baby, please stay with me."
Taehyung's expression softened, his eyes filling with affection. "Dad, don't say that. You know you're my favorite person."
Jin's face contorted, trying to hold back tears. "But you're growing up so fast... I miss my little Tae."
Taehyung wrapped his arms around Jin, holding him tight. "I'll always be your little Tae, Dad. No matter how old I get."
Jin buried his face in Taehyung's shoulder, his voice muffled. "Promise me you'll never leave me."
Taehyung's voice was barely above a whisper. "I promise, Dad. Forever and always."
As they hugged, Jin's tears fell, mingling with Taehyung's gentle laughter.
Their hearts entwined, they savored the moment.
AFTER SOMETIMES.
Taehyung went to his room, the conversation with Jin still lingering in his mind. As he opened the door, he sensed a presence. He spun around, and for a fleeting instant, he saw Jungkook standing by the window. Their eyes met, and Taehyung's heart skipped a beat. But in the blink of an eye, Jungkook vanished.
Taehyung shook his head, confusion etched on his face. He wondered if he was imagining things. Taking a deep breath, he approached the window, searching for any sign of Jungkook, but there was nothing. The city view outside was unchanged.
Taehyung's thoughts swirled, questioning why he thought of Jungkook and why it felt like Jungkook was really there. He couldn't shake off the feeling that Jungkook's presence had left an imprint on his space.
TIME SKIPPED.
IT'S morning, Taehyung slept soundly, and he forgot that he has school. Jin comes in gently shook him to wake up. "Baby, wake up!"
Taehyung groggily opened his eyes, rubbing them. "No, Dad, I don't want to."
Jin chuckled, scooping Taehyung into his arms. "Rise and shine, sleepyhead!" He carried Taehyung to the bathroom.
Taehyung yawned, still disoriented. Jin stood him in front of the sink, handing him his toothbrush.
"Hurry up, you're going to be late," Jin reminded, applying toothpaste.
Taehyung began brushing, his eyes half-closed. Jin smiled, watching his son wake up.
"Morning routine, check," Jin said, as Taehyung finished brushing. "Now, let's get you dressed."
