A huge pot was in front of you. The contents of this pot were currently cooking and bubbling from the heat of the fire under it. You sat still, almost stiff as you watched the pot and the person who was fully focused with stirring the delicious smelling soup. That small girl was cooking something with the help of her magic that manifested as sheep.
The smell alone already made your mouth watery and you gulped, already tempted to try the food just a few feet away from you. But of course you didn't let the temptation control your body and continued to sit still, just hungrily watching the food getting prepared.
It wasn't until another ten minutes had passed, that the girl lifted the lid she had put on it to let it simmer, and began to fill a plate with the food before passing it to you. You gladly accepted it and began eating. The moment the soup hit your tongue, you melted away. The exploding flavours was unlike anything you had ever tasted your whole life. But you weren't the only one being impressed of the amazing meal; the boy next to you gave a loud reaction that mirrored his utter amazement he held for the food. He was shouting just how delicious this was and whatnot. And you couldn't help but agree with his exclamation. "The food is really delicious!" Of course you had to praise the one who had prepared and given you that tasty meal.

The situation you were in right now was quite strange. But in order to know how you came to be in this situation in the first place, you needed to think back on how it all started.

~ Flashback || Half An Hour Ago ~

It was another day of collecting fresh fruits for you. As you went further away from your house, you plucked and plucked away, gradually filling your basket. When your basket was almost full, you heard a rustling sound that made you look the way the sound had come from. Just then, another sound appeared. And based on that, you could ascertain that it was a human that was behind the bushes.
A high-pitched humming came from behind the greenery. Once again, curiousity grabbed your heart and your body slowly moved to the bushes. When you were close enough to peek from above the bushes, you spotted a small girl slowly walking by as she was humming.

You didn't expect her to sense you immediately, and so you jumped from the surprise when both your eyes met. Just as you wanted to think about what to do now, another rustling sound came from the side and eventually, someone jumped out of the bushes with a loud voice saying, "There you are Charmyz-senpai! I was looking for you!" A young boy with grey, pointy hair and big, confident, green eyes came running and stopped in front of the small girl. He immediately began to complain to the girl he called 'Charmyz-senpai'.

"It didn't take long until he eventually saw you. "Oh? Big sis! Long time no see!" You smiled at his cheerful energy and greeted him. Just like Asta had done with Noelle, he wasted no time to introduce his other comrade to you.
That was when one thing lead to another and somehow, you ended up eating the meal that Charmy had cooked.
"I can't let you leave with an empty stomach, la." That was what Charmy had said before she then began to use her magic to cook something.

And that was how you now ended up eating with them.
But only after you had finished your meal, did you have a sudden realisation. "We're in the middle of a forest where lurking magic beasts aren't uncommon. Won't they get drawn by this delicious smell?" Just as you had finished thinking out your concern, as if on cue, a dangerous growling could be heard in the distance, which chilled you down to your very bones. Countless scenarios played inside your head as you didn't dare to turn around to confirm those scenarios with your eyes.

"Asta?!" You got surprised by the young boy as he jumped forward and you couldn't do anything but just watch as he pulled a huge sword out of his grimoire. It wasn't long until all the beasts disappeared, seeing as it only took Asta a few strikes onto their heads to drive them away. After those huge beasts had run back into the thickets of the forest with their tails between their legs, silence returned.
Seeing that young boy dealing with the beasts so easily, reminded you of the time he had told you his dream. After having watched him, you felt oddly convinced that he would definitely reach his goal.

"Oh! I totally forgot the time! Miz Charmy, we need to get back to the base!" Asta jolted up as if he had been hit with something. "Well then big sis, see you!" With this, Asta and Charmy disappeared in the blink of an eye. The moment they were gone, you suddenly recalled Asta telling you about the Black Bulls.
"... They... seem like a fun bunch." You caught yourself smiling while thinking that and as if a switch had had been flipped, your facial muscles turned your once smiling face stoic. Once the two of them had disappeared, the only thing that remained were the pot and the fire that was still burning. "... I guess I'll go back home..."
Back at your small, wooden house you laid down to rest.

"You're so lucky that you got (...)"

"How about (...) After all, you're so talented and loved by (...)"

You jolted awake, breathing heavily. This dream you had just had was actually a memory from a long time ago when you were still a child. But you actually couldn't remember everything from your childhood, not to mention this dream you had had. But you were quick to throw away your confusion.
"Ugh whatever. It's not like I need to remember anything anyway. After all, it won't help me with my current situation."
"..."
You stared at the slow-flickering flame. Maybe it was because of the dream you had just had, but an unsettling feeling crept up and settled onto your heart.
Even though you were tired, you were unable to sleep because of it.
