Seokjin stood at the doorway, his heart racing as he looked at Taehyung, his Taehyung tied to the chair, head slumped back, tear-streaked cheeks. His chest tightened at the sight. All he wanted was to untie him, pull him into his arms, and take him far away from all of this, to protect him like he always promised himself he would. But the weight of his duty, the burden of his empire, kept his feet rooted to the ground. He let out a heavy sigh, the conflict in his heart evident in the way his shoulders slumped slightly.
"Why did you come here, Taehyung?" he whispered under his breath, barely audible, as if speaking to himself. "Why couldn't you stay away from my shadow?"
At the sound of Seokjin's voice, Taehyung's eyes slowly fluttered open. For a brief moment, his gaze softened, seeing the concern in Seokjin's eyes, the same eyes he had fallen for, the same warmth he had missed so much. But the moment passed, and his memories of betrayal surged forward. His face hardened, anger flaring up, pushing away the gentleness he had momentarily allowed.
This was not his Seokjin. This was a man who had played him, who had manipulated his heart. His breath quickened, the pain and anger of the past days rushing back. "I'm here to kill you," Taehyung hissed through gritted teeth, his voice low but filled with venom.
Seokjin flinched at the words, his jaw tightening. He couldn't hide the disappointment in his eyes. "You hate me that much, huh?"
Taehyung scoffed, his laugh bitter, his lips curling in disdain. "You have no idea," he spat.
For a long, tense moment, Seokjin just stared at Taehyung, unsure of what to say, or even if there was anything left to say. He could feel the weight of Taehyung's pain, his anger and it crushed him. He wanted to speak, but the words felt useless, and anything he said might further jeopardize the empire he had built. But every second of silence felt like a knife twisting deeper into his chest.
Then a tear slipped down Taehyung's cheek, betraying his resolve. His anger faltered for just a second, replaced by the overwhelming heartbreak that lay beneath it all.
Seokjin's heart stopped. That tear, it was the crack in Taehyung's armor, the pain Seokjin knew too well.
"Taehyung..." Seokjin whispered, his voice breaking as he called out to him. "Beomgyu, untie him."
Beomgyu hesitated, glancing between Seokjin and Taehyung. "Boss..." he started, but Seokjin cut him off, his voice cold and commanding. "Untie him," Seokjin ordered again, his gaze never leaving Taehyung.
Reluctantly, Beomgyu obeyed, untying the ropes that bound Taehyung's wrists and ankles. Taehyung remained still, his body stiff with tension, but Seokjin could feel the storm brewing inside him. As Taehyung stood, anger radiating from him like heat.
"Run, Taehyung," Seokjin said quietly, stepping back. "Get out of here. I'll take care of the rest."
Taehyung's eyes burned with fury as he pushed Seokjin's arm away. "I told you, if you untied me, I'd kill you," he growled through gritted teeth. "I'm not running away. I want my brother and my friends back."
Seokjin's patience snapped, his expression hardening into a cold, dangerous glare. "Do you have a death wish, Taehyung?. If you stayed back, you will die." he hissed, his voice low and menacing. "Jungkook started this mess," Seokjin continued, his frustration boiling over. "He killed one of my men. You told me you loved me, that you'd do anything to stay by my side. You were ready to leave Jungkook behind." He leaned in, voice sharp, "So tell me, Taehyung. Was your love a lie? If you had to choose, if it came down to me or Jungkook, who would you kill to keep other alive?"
Taehyung's breath hitched, his body trembling with anger. "I would kill you" He snarled, voice shaking.
Seokjin's anger flared as he grabbed a gun from his waist, shoving it into Taehyung's trembling hands. "Then do it," Seokjin growled, his voice dark. "Shoot me."
