The next morning, I didn't wake up until around twelve. I got up and went downstairs and grabbed a bowl of cereal and watched TV, still no Tristan. In the middle of my TV show, my phone started to ring. I didn't know the number, but out of curiosity, I answered it.
"Hello?" I asked.
"Hey, Jade? It's Connor," Connor said, I smiled.
"Hey! What's up?" I asked.
"Well, my sister Virginia Rose is coming by later. She has a ranch by her house and she has two other horses- Lightning and Leo. We're going to go ride around for a while, want to come?" Connor asked.
"Sure!" I exclaimed.
"Cool. We'll come pick you up in about... Ten minutes?" He replied.
"Sounds great. See you then!" Then, I hung up and ran upstairs.
I put on a black tank top with a red open plaid shirt and white-blue shorts. I put on black work boots and put my hair in a neat bun with a red bandana, and soon enough, I heard honking outside my house. I headed outside where Connor was waiting for me in the car with someone else driving. I got in the back seat and she started to drive.
"Jade, this is my big sister Virginia Rose," Connor introduced.
"Hi!" I greeted.
"Howdy," She replied.
Virginia had long straight dirty blonde hair and brown eyes. She was wearing black pants with a tan long sleeved shirt, a black scarf, and black and gold riding boots. Her hair was up in a ponytail and had brown glasses on top of her head.
"Virginia lived in Dallas until last year, and she got her own ranch and horses and a nice house with a big ass open field," Connor said.
"Really? Wow," I said.
"Thank you, love. My boyfriend Daniel helps me raise horses in our barn," Virginia said.
"Lucky," I responded.
"What? Your boyfriend doesn't do that?" Virginia asked.
"Well, I broke up with my boyfriend. He kissed another girl right in front of me, but I ended up becoming friends with her. She's nice- her name is Marzia," I said.
"Im sorry, love. He was too pathetic for you anyways," Virginia replied.
Then, we showed up at Virginia's barn. It was red and white with glass windows with black frames around them. The doors were oak brown that looked brand new, with a label above the door that said 'VIRGINIA & ROSE.' Virginia parked outside and we all got outand went inside where there were six stalls, but only three horses.
"Wow," I said.
"Thank you. I met a girl named Rose and she became my best friend, therefore, 'Virginia & Rose's Stables,'" Virginia explained.
"I love it," I replied.
"These are the horses- Leo, Thunder, and Lightning," Connor introduced.
"Gorgeous. Do you have others? I mean, just out of curiosity with the extra three stalls," I asked.
"Yes. The other three- Savana, Reece, and Lily- are Rose's and her boyfriends horses. Lily is the baby of Savana and Reece," Virginia answered.
"Lovely," I replied.
"Thank you. Connor why don't you take Jade horse back riding and show her the trails," Virginia offered. "All the horses you can use and you can take anything you need."
"Thank you!" I exclaimed, then, Virginia walked out and into the shack next door.
Connor gave me a saddle and I rode Thunder and he rode Lightning. We ran around trails and raced each other for hours, we didn't get bored. Connor kept me entertained with his stupid jokes and tricks, I was never bored with Connor.

He was a great guy, he had an awesome sense of humor, he's sweet, nice, but he has commitment issues. When we dated, it was only for about two months before he moved onto my old friends Jessica, then her best friend Athena, and so on. I would never date him again. He's just a great guy to be friends with. Anyway, we were almost back to the ranch from the third trail when it started to rain lightly. We didn't worry too much about it, but then it started to rain heavily. We got back to the ranch about six minutes later and put the horses back in the stalls, and Connor took me outside the ranch. He had two chairs set up under a ledge and we sat down and watched the rain fall from the sky.
"I love the smell of rain," Connor said, I laughed.
"Yeah I know. It sounds weird but it smells good," I agreed.
Connor stood up and walked out into the middle of the field, I followed. We were surrounded in mud and dirt.
"What?" I asked.
"Nothing. I'm waiting for the sun to clear up, you can see rainbows perfectly from above the trees from right here," he answered.
"Oh." Was all I said.
"Also, this," he said, then he shoved me down onto the mud getting me completely messed up.
"Connor!" I said while he laughed.
"Sorry, Jada," he said, that was my nickname. I extended my arm for him to help me up, and as soon as he grabbed it, I pulled him into the mud with me. We both laughed our asses off until we could see a rainbow forming.
"Wow.." I said. "It's beautiful."
"Not the most beautiful thing I've seen today," Connor said.
"Then what was it?" I asked.
Connor smirked then looked down at the ground. "Nothing."
