(Murder Mubarak X Freddy)
Bambi stumbled through the thick, misty forest, her body aching from the adrenaline of her escape. Her heart raced as the cold air bit at her skin, the distant sounds of sirens echoing faintly in the night. She had eloped from the prison, slipping through the cracks of her dark past.
She couldn't let herself rot there as the legal process wouldn't be in favour. No one would understand her reason to do all the things she did. She knew that killing herself would be more satisfying than rotting in those nasty cells.
Through the trees of the dense forest, she saw a figure___A man, tall and imposing with a creepy smile. He was carrying a shovel, and his every movement was slow, deliberate.
Curiosity tugged at Bambi. What was he doing here in the woods so late at night? And then, her heart skipped a beat when she realized. She was rooted at the spot. Suddenly a snake hissed by her side and she startled which created a noise.
His head snapped toward the noise. His eyes, wild with something between fear and madness, immediately locked onto her hiding spot.
She froze, her heart pounding in her chest. Her first instinct was to run, to flee, but it was too late as he was already moving toward her, his long strides closing the distance faster than she could have hoped to escape. She bolted from her spot in the bushes, sprinting as fast as her legs would carry her but
"Don't run!" he shouted, the desperation in his tone clear.
She didn't dare look back, but she could hear him and his footsteps pounding the earth, growing louder with every passing second. He was getting closer
He grabbed her wrist, pulling her up roughly. "You shouldn't have seen that. I didn't want anyone to know." His voice was hoarse, his grip tightening.
"I didn't see anything,", she pleaded, her voice trembling. "Please, I didn't see anything you don't want me to"
But the man didn't seem to hear her. She saw his brown orbs were looking terrific in the darkness and she knew he would kill her too.
Suddenly they heard noises of footsteps and someone throwing orders in a strong voice. Police!
"I didn't do anything! I just... I just ran. I don't want to go back there! Please let me go" Bambi pleaded trying to get rid of his grip, her voice shaking as her mind raced.
He paused for a moment, looking at her, his expression unreadable. Then, without warning, he pushed her into a hollowed-out tree trunk. "Stay here", he whispered. "Don't move. Don't make a sound"
She nodded and it was really awkward as he was holding her close and she was holding on him too.
His voice was suddenly in her ear, low and urgent. "We have to go, now"
She stumbled out of the hollow, her legs shaky, but she was on her feet again. He grabbed her hand, pulling her through the darkness as fast as they could go.
But suddenly her ankle, sprained from the hasty run, throbbed with every step, the sharp pain growing unbearable. She winced and stumbled, barely able to keep up with his quick pace.
"You're slowing us down", he muttered, his voice clipped as he glanced back at her, irritation apparent on his face.
"Then why are you here? Leave me and run Mr..." she realised then she didn't know his name.
"Freddy" he said and instantly scooped her up.
"What the..." she grasped in fear clinging to him.
He didn't say anything for a moment, his jaw clenched. He hated this. He hated being interrupted from his quiet life, being dragged into someone else's mess. He had no intention of babysitting some prison escapee.
