"Ok! What the fuck is going on? I- I don't understand!" We were at least 100 meters away from Evan before I started asking questions.

"Look... I need you to listen very carefully." Annabeth said.

"I'm listening."

"This may be hard to understand but are you familiar with the Greek Gods."

"Annabeth! We nearly got eaten by Evan! This is not the time to be talking about Greek Mythology." I cried.

"Ok, you need to listen... They are real... The Greek gods are real." We sat there in silence for a few seconds before it sank in.

"Ok. I'm driving you to a mental hospital, because you have gone crazy." I declared as I looked at her, which may have been a bad idea because I was driving.

SWERVEEE

"AAAHHHHH!" We screamed as we swerved off the road. We rolled down the side of the road and hit a water pipe with a PPPSSSHHHH, and stream of water erupted out of the pipe.

After we had recovered from the shock, I groaned "Annabeth? Are you alright?"

"Yeah... I'm fine... We need to get out, it's not safe here." she muttered.

"What do you mean? Of course it's not safe here! I just crashed the fucking car!" We rolled out of the car and slumped onto the ground.

"I need to contact camp." Annabeth decided.

"I'm just gonna stop asking questions because I'm so confused."

In the corner of my eye, I saw Annabeth stand up and walk to the hood of the car, where the burst pipe was sprinkling water over the grass.

I saw her throw something into the water.
"Oh Iris, goddess of the rainbow. Please accept my offering and show me Chiron."

That was the last thing I remember before blacking out.

My eyes fluttered open, a tall figure with 4 legs looked down at me.

"Donkey?" I muttered.

"Centaur" A deep voice corrected.

My vision cleared and I saw a horse standing above me. Or I thought it was a horse. The top part of his body was a man with brown medium length hair and a beard, and the bottom was a white stallion.

"My name is Chiron." He said.

"What the-"

"We should get her back to camp." I heard Annabeth say.

"Yes, my dear. We should go, I can sense many dangers in this forest." Chiron said. I groaned and tilted my head up. "No, you must rest." He advised me. But no way am I gonna listen to some donkey man. I placed my palms on the grass behind me and pushed myself into a sitting position.

"No. I'm not resting. We nearly got eaten by Evan, then you started going crazy and saying Greek gods are real, and then I crashed a car. So no, I am not resting." I said firmly and I forced myself onto my feet.

"Lina..." Annabeth said. "Let's get back to camp."

"I don't want to go to your stupid camp! Can someone just explain to me what's going on!"

Chiron huffed, "Lina... There is a camp for people like you." He said gently. "People like Annabeth. You are much more special than you think."

I felt a little hurt that he was calling me special, as if I wasn't normal.

"People who have godly parents, you are called demigods." He continued.

"Hold up! Now you? Why does everyone keep talking about Gods?!" I demanded.

"My dear, just listen." Chiron said. "You, Lina, are a demigod."

The drive to camp was long and boring. Chiron was forced to run, (or gallop), back to camp, as he didn't fit in the van.
I had attempted to text Rick (my case worker), but Annabeth snatched my phone out of my hands and shoved it into her bag.

"Annabeth?! Is this one of your 'I hate phones' things?" I demanded.

"Demigods can't have phones; the signals send out waves to monsters and alert them your where abouts." She replied.

I rolled my eyes, as I looked out the window, a hill with a large pine tree sat atop it.

"That's camp." Annabeth said.

"That's camp?" I repeated. "The tree is camp?"

"No. Just behind it."

We parked at the base of the hill and walked up.
Annabeth told me we had to give Thalia's Pine tree (that's what she called it) a wide birth. We passed the tree, and sitting on top of it was a golden fleece, but that's not even the weirdest part, a dragon lay down beside the tree, snoring.

"What the hell?" I whispered with curiosity.

"I'll explain everything soon."

We walked over the hill and the valley beneath revealed itself
I caught my breath. I simply couldn't process everything I was seeing. The landscape was dotted with building that looked like ancient Greek architecture. An open-air pavilion, an Amphitheatre, a circular arena, there was white marble columns sparkling in the sun. And in a nearby sand pit, a dozen high school aged kids played volleyball. Canoes glided across a small lake. Kids in bright orange T-shirts were chasing each other around a cluster of cabins nestled besides the woods.

"Holy shit!" I marveled.

"This is camp." Annabeth smiled, then we sprinted down the hill
