Regrettably Mine

I walked across the path to the Ares cabin. Cabin 5 was scruffily painted with an angry red colour, barbed wire lined the roof, and a stuffed boar's head sat above the doorway.
Just as I was about to walk up to the door, Clarisse yelled from behind me,

"Wait! Lina!" I whipped round and saw Clarisse running towards me.

"What is it?" I asked.

"I should just show you around... its safer."

"What do you mean?" I questioned.

"There is just some live land mines around the entrance. I have got to teach you where to stand."

It took me about 5 minutes to memorise where to stand to get in. Once I finally walked in the cabin, I gasped.

Bunkbeds with bright red quilted lined the room, spears and axes sat atop stands in the far corner. Blood stains were spotted all over the wooden floor.

"So, you'll be staying here." She pointed to a lower bunk with a dark red chest on top. "You can put all of your belongings in the chest." Clarisse said.

"Thanks Clarisse." I said. Clarisse left soon after, I placed all my stuff inside the chest and settled the box in front of my bed.
I sat down on my bed and took a breath.
So much has happened in the last 3 days, Evan had tried to eat me and Annabeth, my ring that I've had for over a year, turned out to be a throwing knife, I got claimed by the god Ares, and I already started beefing with someone (Mason ifykyk).

I woke up the next morning feeling refreshed, it was the first time I had slept on a real bed in a long time.
After we had breakfast in the dining hall, Clarisse asked if she could see my knife throwing, to know what position to put me for capture the flag.

We walked to the archery targets, and I tapped my ring.

"Sick! Gift from dad?" Clarisse asked.

"Yeah, it returns back in ring form after I throw it." I explained.

"Does it have a name?"

"Slaughter." I grinned

I threw the knife towards the target, as expected, it hit dead centre. With in a second, Slaughter disappeared from the target, and I felt it magically reappear on my finger.
I held my hand up so Clarisse could see the reappeared ring.

We towards the armoury where we put on our armour for Capture the Flag. I spotted Annabeth across the foyer putting on her armour. I ran over to her,

"Annabeth!" I panted, "hey!"

Annbeth looked over at me and smiled. "Hey! How is your new cabin?" She asked.

I grinned, "the bed is really comfortable."

"Do you know how to play?" She asked, waving her hands at the flags.

"Yeah... I think so, I'm gonna get a position soon. I'm kind excited." I admitted.

She smiled back at me.

"Lina! Team meeting!" I heard Clarisse screech behind me.

"Bye!" I called to Annabeth as I ran back to my team.
The Ares, Demeter, Dionysus, and Hephestus cabins all huddled together.

"Ok, Hephestus cabin will be guarding the flag." Clarisse said. "Pollux and half of the Demeter cabin will on border patrol. And the Ares cabin will be a decoy while Lina and I will go for the flag." Clarisse smiled at me.
I felt so needed, I had only been at camp for a few days, and she puts me at the front lines.

"Our biggest threat is Annabeth, Mason, and Percy." Clarisse continued. "Jason, can you set up traps around the flag?"

Jason nodded.

"And make sure that you watch your backs for Annabeth, she still has the cap of invisibility."

I didn't really know what Clarisse was talking about, but we all yelled, "Red Team!" And we ran off towards the clearing in front of the woods.

Chiron galloped out of the big house, "everybody! Usual rules, no intentional maiming, Blue Team has Zeus's fist, and Red Team has the other side of the creek. The boundary line is the creek. 5 minutes to set up and get In positions. Go!"
The blue team turned and ran off to their side of the woods, and my team ran towards ours.

I don't know how Jason managed to set up traps in less than five minutes, but he did. We set up the red flag on a big boulder, hard enough to climb, but not impossible.

A few minutes later, a conch horn blew.
Clarisse yelled, "Go go go!"
Clarisse and I waited for the decoy to get about 50 metres out before running a similar way towards Blue Teams flag.

Clarrise had her spear in hand, and I had Slaughter in mine.
2 metres away, I heard a rustle in the bush. We stopped dead in our tracks.

"Annabeth." Clarisse whispered in my ear.
I understood the assignment. I lunged forward and hit something invisible. Annabeth materialised in my arms, and I tackled her to the ground.

THUD

Annabeth squirmed under my weight, "sorry." I muttered.

Clarisse dug through her pockets and pulled out a zip tie and tape. She ripped a piece of tape off and stuck it onto Annabeth's mouth. Clarisse grabbed Annabeth's wrists and tied them together. I noticed Annabeth's dagger sitting on the grass beside her, I snatched it up and put it in my sheath. 

"Won't be needing that." I smiled.
Her cap of invisability was sitting harmlessly by her side, I picked it up and placed it on her head. She vanished into thin air.

"Bye!"
And we left.

Word count - 950

I know the rules in PJO are a little differnt to the ones in here (like they tied up Annabeth and your not allowed to do that in the book) But I changed it.
39 days until CHRISTMAS!!!
OMG I swear I have waiting for christmas all year.
