Lucfiera knelt beside Ceila's lifeless body, her tears falling freely as the mountain air whispered around them. She gently took Ceila's hand, feeling the warmth fading away with every passing moment.
Lucfiera: "I'm sorry... you saved me twice... and I couldn't save you even once. I'm sorry..."
Her voice cracked with emotion, the words heavy as they left her lips. Every regret, every unspoken promise, felt like a weight too great to bear. She clenched her fist, her dark energy flickering around her, an intense storm brewing within her chest. The loss was suffocating. The pain, unbearable. Yet, the anger began to rise. The warden, the demons, the angels , they would pay for this. For Ceila. For all the blood spilled.
Lucfiera's eyes widened as she felt the faintest pulse beneath her hand. Her breath caught in her throat, heart racing. Slowly, she pulled her head back from Ceila's chest, listening intently for any sign of life. Her heart fluttered with disbelief as she heard the soft rhythm of Ceila's heartbeat, steady but weak.
Tears welled up in her eyes once again, but this time, they were tears of hope.
She gently lifted Ceila, cradling her in her arms, whispering softly, "You're still here... you're still with me."
With newfound determination, Lucfiera began to move, her pace quickening. She couldn't waste another second. She would save Ceila. She wouldn't let her die.
Lucfiera looked to the horizon, knowing the danger wasn't over yet. But for the first time since the battle had started, she felt the weight of something other than grief—there was still hope.
The trio continued to trek away from the mountain range, their path stretching ahead as the tension in the air grew thick. Lilith glanced back once more, uncertainty clouding her thoughts.
Lilith: "I don't think we made the right decision to leave Lucifera behind. She... she was fighting for us. For me."
Zerphrion: Sighing deeply "now she wasn't she wasn't fighting for her angel friend She made her decision. And we could all die because of it. This was the only way to ensure our survival."
Finn: Frowning, his brow furrowed "But still, Lucifera wouldn't have let us die. She would've protected us, no matter what."
Zerphrion: His voice sharp, though his tone is tinged with regret "You both could've stayed. You made your choice in joining me. Now look at what's happening. We can't afford to go back."
But before anyone could respond, a deep rumbling shook the ground beneath their feet. A tremendous noise echoed through the mountain range, the sound of something colossal being torn apart.
The trio turned instinctively, eyes wide as they looked back toward the mountains. What they saw left them frozen in place.
The distant peaks of the mountain range were visibly shaking, crumbling as if some immense force was tearing them apart. A massive slash of dark energy cut through the mountains, sending shockwaves through the earth.
Lilith: Her eyes wide with fear "We should go back... now. Lucifera—she's—"
Zerphrion: Shaking his head firmly, his voice cold and resolute "No, Lilith. We cannot afford to go back. She made her choice, and we must stick to ours."
The air around them felt charged with the weight of uncertainty. But Zerphrion's words were final, and the decision had been made. Still, deep down, they couldn't shake the feeling that something had changed—something that would have profound consequences for them all.
The distant rumble from the mountains only added to their unease as they continued onward, the haunting sound echoing in their minds.
Zerphrion's voice was heavy with the weight of uncertainty as he stared back toward the mountain, his gaze hard but filled with hidden guilt.
