Chapter forty four
As the final weeks of school passed by, Amelia and Fred found themselves reflecting more and more on their future together. They spent countless hours discussing their plans, imagining the life they would soon build as a couple. It was an exciting time, full of anticipation and love, but also a bit overwhelming as they faced the reality of life after Hogwarts.
Fred and George's joke shop was beginning to take shape, their entrepreneurial spirits driving them forward. Fred was particularly excited about the idea of running the shop with his twin, envisioning a future where they could make their mark on the wizarding world. The twins planned to open it shortly after leaving school, eager to turn their dreams into a reality. They knew it wouldn't be easy, but Fred was determined to make it work, and having Amelia by his side was all the motivation he needed. As for Amelia, her future was just as exciting. She had always been passionate about making a difference in the wizarding world, and she had set her sights on joining the Ministry of Magic. She dreamed of working in a department that would allow her to bring about change, perhaps even something to do with magical creatures or the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. She wasn't entirely sure yet, but she was confident that her passion would lead her in the right direction.
In the meantime, the two of them were living in a small but cozy home that Amelia's parents had gifted them for their engagement. It was a charming two-story house nestled in the countryside, just a short walk from the Burrow. The house was perfect for the two of them, offering the right amount of space while still feeling intimate and homey. With three bedrooms, there was more than enough room for them to grow into their life together. The cozy living room was filled with soft furniture and warm colors, creating the perfect space to unwind after long days. The kitchen was small but functional, with Amelia already planning some of her favorite recipes to try out. The master bedroom, with its large windows letting in the morning sun, was where they spent quiet nights together, talking about their dreams for the future.
The third bedroom was a guest room, thoughtfully set up for their friends to stay whenever they visited. It was a comfortable, welcoming space with soft linens and a cozy atmosphere, offering a perfect retreat for any guests who came by. Tiny and Hermione, especially, made use of this room many times, coming over to visit and spending the night. Fred and George, ever the pranksters, were often found on the couch, joking around with each other, much to the amusement of their friends. It had become a bit of a running joke that the twins never quite made it to a bed when they stayed over, always too busy chatting and laughing into the night. The little house had a warmth to it that felt like it was already becoming their home. The small details, like the soft throw blankets on the couch or the pictures of their family and friends on the walls, gave it a comforting and inviting atmosphere. Every room had a personal touch, a reflection of their personalities and the life they were beginning to build together. There was a sense of peacefulness here, a feeling that everything was falling into place, even if it was still the beginning of their journey.
They spent many of their school free evenings in the garden, sitting together and watching the sunset, talking about everything and nothing at all. Their plans for the wedding were still in the works, with the decision to wait a year before tying the knot. They wanted a summer wedding, something bright and beautiful, filled with all their loved ones. They talked about the venue, the flowers, the guests, and all the little details that would make their day perfect. Though there was no rush, both of them could hardly wait for the day they would say "I do," but they were content knowing they had time to plan and enjoy these moments of anticipation. In the meantime, they focused on the present—their time at school, their growing business, and their exciting futures ahead.
