Chapter forty five

The next few months passed in a blur of busy schedules and exciting new beginnings for Fred, George, and Amelia. Fred and George had opened their joke shop, *Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes*, and it quickly became a huge success. The shop was filled with laughter and the sound of jingling galleons as customers flocked in from all over to see their magical creations. Fred and Amelia had spent long hours together in the evenings, discussing everything from shop ideas to wedding plans, always supporting each other through the challenges that came with the early days of their new life.

Meanwhile, Amelia settled into her new role at the Ministry of Magic. It was a demanding job, but she was determined to make it work. Her workdays were filled with meetings, paperwork, and new responsibilities, but there was always a sense of excitement as she was working in the heart of the magical world. She would occasionally bump into Mr. Weasley in the halls, and each time, he greeted her with a warm smile, always ensuring they were on a first-name basis now, as he did with Molly. Amelia couldn't help but feel grateful for the welcoming atmosphere they had provided her with, making the transition to adulthood feel less daunting. As the months went by, the wedding date loomed ever closer. June 1st had been set as the date for their big day. Fred and Amelia had discussed the wedding details carefully, keeping it simple yet meaningful. They both agreed on a beach wedding, feeling that it would be intimate and relaxed, not too grand or overly complicated. The thought of exchanging vows on the sand, surrounded by the gentle waves of the ocean, made Amelia's heart flutter with excitement. It was exactly the kind of day they both wanted—something beautiful yet easy-going, where everyone could enjoy the moment without the stress of a grand, formal event.

The wedding preparations began in full swing, but the couple made sure to keep it lighthearted. They weren't looking for extravagance, just a celebration of love and a fresh start for their future together. Amelia found herself daydreaming about what it would be like to marry Fred, imagining the ceremony, the guests, the laughter, and the beautiful evening that would follow. She felt lucky to be starting this new chapter with someone who was so supportive and loving, always there to share both the joys and challenges of life.

Amelia and Fred sat together at the kitchen table in their cozy home, a wide array of cakes in front of them. The kitchen was warm, the soft glow of the overhead light adding to the cozy ambiance of the room. Fred's mum, Molly, had been hard at work in the kitchen, baking up a storm to help the couple decide on the perfect cake for their upcoming wedding. She had insisted on baking several different varieties, each more mouthwatering than the last.

Fred grinned at the sight of the spread, already eyeing the rich chocolate cake at the front of the table. "Alright, love, I've got my eyes set on this one," he said, pointing to a decadent looking cake layered with dark chocolate ganache. Amelia raised an eyebrow playfully. "You've already chosen? We've barely even tried half of them." Fred shrugged, a mischievous twinkle in his eyes. "I'm just saying, who wouldn't want to have a cake this glorious at our wedding?"

Amelia chuckled and reached for a fork, cutting herself a small piece. "I'll admit, it does look pretty amazing," she said, taking a bite. Her eyes widened at the sweetness. "Oh wow, this is good." Fred immediately grabbed a fork and cut a piece for himself, eager to try. He chewed thoughtfully for a moment before nodding. "I knew it. This is the one. It's perfect."

Amelia smiled, savoring another bite. "You always go for the chocolate, don't you?" Fred leaned back in his chair, smirking. "Can you blame me? It's got all the best parts of a cake. Chocolate, frosting, more chocolate... What's not to love?" Amelia rolled her eyes fondly. "You're a simple man, Fred Weasley." She then grabbed a fork and tried another cake from the spread—a lemon sponge with fresh cream. Her expression softened with delight. "But this one's pretty good too..."
