Izuku had picked up the habit after his mother started beating him at the beginning of middle school. He would steal her alcohol and drink just enough to make his whole body go numb.

Once his mother found out, things just got worse. Inko beat him almost every day, locking away her alcohol in places that Izuku couldn't find. It was starting to drive Izuku crazy, not being able to numb the pain.

So he took to a new addiction, self-harm. Putting new cuts on his arms every day, until his arms no longer had any room, that's when he moved to his legs.

Cutting every night to numb the constant pain that he felt, but it was never enough. He wanted that feeling of no longer having control of his body, letting the alcohol numb him until he couldn't think straight.

So Izuku made a fake ID and disguised himself whenever he went out to buy alcohol. Somehow, it worked. He was able to get a bottle of alcohol almost every week.

Finally able to numb the pain once more, he felt relieved. Soon enough, the alcohol didn't feel like it was doing its job, so Izuku started to look into different options.

He found a website online where he could organise a meet-up with someone who sold marauanja. That's when Izuku started to get addicted to drugs. First, it was just the mild stuff, but soon, he went to the stuff that would make him hallucinate.

Izuku was in his last year of middle school now and had tried at least every drug that existed, yet nothing felt right anymore. He felt like his life was no longer worth living, but he couldn't bring himself to take his life.

That was until he got the boost he needed.

" Hope to have a quirk in your next life and take a swandive off the roof of the building. "

Bakugou said with a smirk before leaving the room. Something resonated within Izuku as he took those words to heart, contemplating them for the rest of the day before making his decision.

Izuku trudged his way up to the roof, memories of his life going through his head as he finally made it to the edge. He gave one last smile as he took the final step, but rather than hitting the ground, he felt two arms around him.

Izuku opened his eyes to see his hero, All Might standing there, holding Izuku in his arms.

" Young man! What were you thinking?! "

All Might said as he had just finished capturing a villain and was taking it to the police station when he noticed Izuku was about to jump. So he took a slight detour.

Izuku had so many questions he wanted to ask All Might. Without a second thought, he grabbed onto All Might's pants as All Might had just jumped into the air.

Izuku's hair blew in the wind as he screamed out loud, All Might looked at the green haired kid, eyes wide as he found a landing spot on the roof of a building, realising his time was now up.

All Might suddenly turned into a skinny skeletal like figure. Izuku stared in disbelief with wide eyes, his mouth agape as he tried to comprehend the scene in front of him.
