Deku was an unexpected child. Deku's mother and father never wanted a child because they were happy with each other and didn't want a kid ruining their life.

When Inko was pregnant, her boyfriend wanted her to get an abortion but she decided against it, saying that this pregnancy was a blessing.

Inko's boyfriend was not happy with this response. They tried to make it work, but things just kept getting worse, and after Deku was born, Inko's boyfriend left her.

Inko was fine at first, thinking it was for the best. She didn't need her boyfriend, and she could raise Deku on her own. Right?

Well, in the beginning, things turned out okay, but as a couple of years went by, Inko couldn't find another lover because of the fact that she had a child, and she started to despise Deku.

" It's all your fault! I wish I got rid of you like he told me to! "

Inko yelled at Deku, who was only a little baby at the time.

As Deku got older, his mother continued to neglect him and tell him that she wished she never gave birth to him. Deku started to understand those words, thinking it was normal to be told those kinds of things.

When Deku started kindergarten, he made a friend named Bakugou. At first, they were close, two peas in a pod, both admiring All Might, the number one hero.

However, when Bakugou got his quirk and found out that Deku was quirkless, he started to look down on Deku. Bakugou knew that Deku was a weakling, a nobody without a quirk.

During middle school, Deku was set on becoming a hero so he could help others because nobody was there to help him. Deku wrote notes of every hero he admired or not. He wanted to know exactly how they used their quirks.

Bakugou grabbed Deku's notebook and exploded it before throwing it out the window.

" You better not apply for UA! A quirkless extra like you? You'd be an embarrassment to that school! You are an embarrassment, Deku! "

Bakugou gripped Deku by the collar of his shirt and glared at him with cold eyes. Deku looked away, a slight quiver in his lips.

" Well, I want to go there.. if I'm quirkless or not. I'll do what I can! "

Bakugou laughed, exploding Deku's face, causing burns on his cheek. Bakugou threw Deku across the room and started walking to the door.

" You know... there is one way to have a quirk. Take a swandive off the roof of the building. Hope you have a quirk in your next life. "

Bakugou left the room, leaving Deku sitting on the floor with wide eyes.

Deku actually considered those words as he walked up to the roof, stepping closer to the edge. He stepped off the roof, but suddenly, someone caught him. He didn't see the person's face, and the person left after placing Deku on the ground.

Deku walked home that afternoon, getting attacked by a villain. He met All Might and learnt about All Might's true form due to his damaged body.

Deku stupidly saved Bakugou from the villain that had originally attacked him, and All Might came to the rescue.

He met All Might later that day and learnt about a quirk that he could inherit. Deku had to build up his body strength within 10 months before the UA entrance exam and then inherited One for All by eating a strand of All Might's hair.
