Chapter 14: charlottes sick

Charlottes pov-
I woke up at 3am rushing to the bathroom I go near the toilet and throw up and I feel someone holding my hair back and rubbing my back. "It's okay my love I'm here." I hear autumn say. Once I finish I flush it and sit back against the wall. "I'm sorry if I woke you up love." I look up at her. "Its okay my sweet let's get you back to bed." She picks me up and Carries me back to our bed and lets me cuddle up to her but I hesitate and she looks at me. "Are you okay baby." She ask me. "I don't want to get you sick too." I say fiddling with my engagement ring. "Come here love I don't care if I get sick." She says pulling me next to her and kissing my head. "I love you." I say resting on her chest again. "I love you too darling." Says running her hand through my hair and I feel myself starting to fall asleep again.

I hear Autumns alarm and start to stir awake and autumn turns her alarm off and puts her glasses on. "Morning love how you feeling." Autumn says and touches my head with the back of her hand. "I still feel sick." I say looking up at her. "Oh my poor baby I'll let Marjorie know you won't be in when I get to work after dropping the girls off." Autumn says kissing my head and getting up and getting dressed. "Please stay with me I don't want to be alone." I whine and give her a doe eyed look and she comes and sits on the bed. "I wish I could darling but I have to go in." She says lifting my chin and giving me a small kiss. She's goes and gets the girls up and makes them breakfast and tells them to get their shoes and coats on and she comes back in the room. "I'm going to go now love but ring me if you need okay." She says giving me and hug and kiss bye. "Okay bye darling I love you." I say lying back down. "I love you too my sweet." She says and with that she goes back downstairs and the door closes.

Autumns pov-
My alarm and Charlotte starts to stir awake and i turn my alarm off and put my glasses on. "Morning love how you feeling." I say and touched her head with the back of my hand. "I still feel sick." She says looking up at her. "Oh my poor baby I'll let Marjorie know you won't be in when I get to work after dropping the girls off." I say kissing her head and getting up and getting dressed. "Please stay with me I don't want to be alone."she whines and gives me a doe eyed look and I go  and sit on the bed. "I wish I could darling but I have to go in." I say lifting her chin and giving her a small kiss. I go and get the girls up and make them breakfast and tell them to get their shoes and coats on and I go  back in the room. "I'm going to go now love but ring me if you need okay." I say giving her a hug and kiss bye. "Okay bye darling I love you." She says lying back down. "I love you too my sweet." I say and with that i go back downstairs and the door close the door and get the girls in the car and drive out of the drive way it feels wrong to leave char when she's sick but I have to work and get the girls to school. I drop Kasey off first and to drive to the nursery and once I pull into the car park I take Gracie to the preschool room. Her birthday is after September so she won't start school until she is five where the children her age have already gone to school but she's made friends with the children that are in there with her.

I go to the office after I do hand over for Gracie. "Morning autumn how are you is Charlotte not with you today." Marjorie says as I sit down at my desk. "Im fine and no she's not she was sick at 3am this morning and running a fever." I explain to her. "I hope she feels better soon." She says. "Hm." Is all I reply. When charlottes not around i go back to my cold demeanour but when she's around me a different side of me comes out. The office phone rings it's the preschool room and Marjorie answers. "Okay thank you winter I'll let her know." Marjorie hangs up. "What was that about and you'll let who know what." I turn and glare at Marjorie. "Oh um it's Gracie." Marjorie says and panic rises in my body. "What's wrong Marjorie is she okay has something happened." I say trying to not show my panic. "She's fine she's just been sick and got a temperature." Marjorie says trying to reassure me. I run out of the office and down to the preschool room. "Mama." Gracie's cries. I rush over to her and pick her up. "Oh sweet girl are you poorly." I say to her and rub her back she just nods and rests against my chest.

I go back to the office carrying my poorly little girl and I sit at my desk with her and ring charlottes mum. "Hiya dear is everything okay." Hannah answers the phone. "Hi Hannah everything's fine I was just ringing to ask if you could come the nursery and pick Gracie up she's been sick and has a fever and Charlotte is home sick too." I say trying to remain calm while Gracie cuddles more into me. "Yes dear I'll be there soon." She says and hangs up. "Nana is coming to pick you up darling." I say to my daughter and cuddle her she drifts off to sleep in my arms.

There's a knock at the office door. "Come in." Marjorie says and Hannah walks in. "Hiya I'm here for Gracie." She says to Marjorie and then she looks over to me and smiles when she sees Gracie asleep in my arms. "She's not long gone to sleep." I say standing up to put Gracie in Hannah's arms and she wakes up. "Mama cuddle I want mama." She starts crying and I stoke through her hair. "Shhh to okay sweetie mamas here but  you need to go with nana okay and mama will see you later." I say and she clams down and falls back asleep in Hannah's arms. "Thank you Hannah." I say. "It's quite alright dear I can keep her for the next 2 days and drop her off here Thursday if she's better and I will ring if there's no change and take her home to you and Lottie if she's not better in 2 days." Hannah says and looks down at Gracie sleeping her arms. "Thank you Hannah I appreciate it." I say and smiles and takes Gracie.

I carry on with my work and then my phone starts ringing it's kaseys school I start to worry if she's sick too I pick up. "Hello." I answer. "Hello is this miss knight." The person on the side of the phone asks. "Yes speaking how can I help you." I say. "I'm just ringing about Kasey." She says and the panic rises more. "Is she okay." I say now fully panicking. "Well she fell off the climbing frame and we believe she has broken her arm and we couldn't get hold of miss hale and you are the next person on the emergency contact list." She says and I start to worry and panic more. "Yes her mum is at home sick I will come and pick her up." I say getting all my things as fast as I can and hang up the phone.

"Woah woah what's happened where's the fire." Marjorie says and I glare at her. "Kasey has fallen off the climbing frame at school and they think she has broken her arm I need to go now and take her to the hospital." I say in my usual tone and she backs off and I leave the office and get in my car and drive to the school. I get to the school and go to reception. "Hello how can I help you." The woman at the desk says. "Yes Im here for Kasey knight." I say and she looks up at me. "What's your name." She asks me. "Autumn knight." I simply say. "Ah yes I'll just go get her for you." She says and goes to get Kasey then I see her coming back and Kasey runs over to me. "Mama my arm really hurts." She cries and I gently wrap my arms around her. "I know sweet girl come on let's get you checked at the hospital." I say and we leave and drive to the hospital.

She has an x-ray and they confirm she has broken her arms and put her arm in a cast that she has to keep on for 4 weeks. We drive straight home and I message Marjorie saying I'm taking the rest of the day off and looking after Charlotte and Kasey.
