Chapter 13: Gracies 4th birthday

Today is Gracie's 4th birthday and Charlottes mum has to agreed to pick the girls up after school and nursery since Autumn has a meeting and they are under staffed so Charlotte has to go into work.

Autumns pov-
I'm first one to wake up to my alarm and I gently get out of bed to shower and after my shower I go to Gracie's room. "Gracie darling time to wake up." I say brushing her hair out of her face. "Morning mama." She says rubbing her eyes. "Morning my little birthday princess." I say giving her a cuddle and kiss on the forehead. "Shall we get dressed and then go wake Kasey up." I say picking out her outfit for nursery and get her dressed and then go into kasey's room. "Kasey darling time to wake up." I say gently kissing her temple. "Morning mama, morning Gracie happy birthday." She says sitting up. "Morning kasey." Gracie says giving her a hug. "Morning sweet pea time to get your uniform on and then come down for breakfast." I say leaving her room with Gracie and going downstairs make them pancakes for breakfast. "Okay girls I'm just going to wake mummy up and get dressed once your finished put your shoes and coats on please." I say as I pick up char's coffee from the side. "Okay mama." Both girls say as I'm going upstairs.

"My love time to wake up." I say gently pushing her hair away from her and kissing her head. "Mhm good morning darling." She responds sitting up. "Good morning my sweet the girls are already downstairs, dressed and had breakfast." I tell her giving her coffee to her. "Thank you my love, what time is it?" She asks sipping her coffee. "It's 6:35." I tell her and she jumps up out of bed. "Why did no one wake me the girls have school and we need to go to work." She panics getting her clothes out I go behind her and wrap my arms around her waist. "Calm down baby you needed the sleep and I already told Marjorie we will be a little late so she changed us to the late shift." I tell her and she relaxes in my arms. "Thank you my dear." She says and turns around wraps her arms round my neck and leans in to kiss me. I return the kiss and we pull away so Charlotte can get dressed for work I go back down stairs to the girls and get theirs shoes and coat on them. Charlotte comes downstairs and I get lost in a trance looking at how gorgeous she is. I'm so lost in my trance that I don't realise she's getting her shoes on until I feel her arms wrap round my waist. "You okay my sweet." She whispers in my ear I shake my head and turn around. "Yes my love you look..ethereal." I say giving her a loving kiss. We pull away "come on girls time for school." Charlotte says. I still can't take my gaze away from her and she just giggles and takes my hand and we get the girls in the car.

Charlotte's pov-
I walk down the stairs after getting dressed and the girls are stood there waiting with autumn and autumn is lost just staring at me I make my way behind her and get my shoes on she's still stood there lost staring I wrap my arms around her waist "you okay my sweet." I whisper in her ear and she shakes her head and turns around "yes my love you look..ethereal." She says giving me a loving kiss and I kiss her back. We pull away, "come on girls time for school." I say to the girls and giggle at her then take her hand because she's still looking at me we go out to the car and get the girls into the car and autumn gets in the drivers seat and I get in the passenger seat we start driving towards kasey's school first like normal once we arrive me and autumn get out with her. "Bye sweetheart have a good day I love you and we'll see you after school okay nana is picking you up." I say giving her a cuddle and then autumn goes to her level. "Bye my darling have a good day and we will see you later." Autumn says giving her a cuddle. "Bye mum,bye mama." Kasey says and waves to us while walking into the school gates and we get back in the car. "Right birthday girl shall we get you to nursery then." I say and Gracie just nods and giggles. We drive to the nursery which is only 5 minutes from the school so we arrive in no time. Autumn gets out first and opens my door and I get Gracie out. We walk in hand in hand with Gracie we go to the office first. "AUNTY MARJORIE." Gracie shouts as we enter and autumn sets up her desk. "Why hello my birthday sweetheart." Marjorie says and picks Gracie up. "My mum is picking her up today and taking her to her house while me and autumn finish and set up the house for her party." I say. "Okay my love no worries." She says putting Gracie down and Gracie goes to autumn and sits on her lap. "Come on sweet girl let's get you to the room." I say going over to her. "No mummy I want to stay with mama." She whines. "Darling you can't stay with mama I have lots of work to do you need to go with mummy to your room but I will see you later okay." Autumn says kissing her head and putting her down to come to me and I take her hand. "I will see you later my love." I say giving her a quick kiss. "I'll see you later my sweet, bye my little princess." Autumn says to ,e and Gracie. "Bye mama." Gracie says and we leave the office I do hand over and go to the baby room where I'm working with winter today.

"Ah good morning Charlotte." Winter says as I enter the room. "Good morning winter how are you this morning." I ask him. "I'm very well thank you." He says and goes back to the activity he was doing and little autumn sees me. "Auntie lottie." She says coming over to me. "Hello sweetie are you okay." I say going to her level. "I ok." She says in the cutest little voice ever. "Sweet girl go back to winter your in his group today go on there's a good girl." I say as she walks back to winter. I can't believe how big she is already and she's just started walking. After a while it's free play and we all go out into the garden. I see a little boy pushing autumn and she falls over I rush over and pick her up. "James that's not very nice we use gentle hands." I say to the little boy while trying to calm little autumn down. "Shh sweetie it's okay." I say rubbing her back but she cries harder. "Mummy want mummy." She cries. "Winter." I say walking back over to him. "Yes Charlotte." He says. "Are you okay here with Carly while I take autumn to Marjorie James pushed her over and she wants Marjorie." I ask him. "Yes that fine." He says and I go back into the room and then leave to go to the office. I knock on the door. "Mummy." Little autumn cries and Marjorie rushes up to her. "Mummy's here baby what's wrong what happened." Marjorie ask comforting her. "James pushed her over and she fell I've talked to James and I tried to calm her down but she wanted you so I thought I'd bring her for a cuddle." I explain. "oh my darling it's okay." Marjorie says and autumn-jades cries turn into sniffles soon she starts falling asleep in Marjorie's arms. "My love can you take her into the nap room and lay her down please." Marjorie ask me. "Yeah of course." I say taking the now sleeping little one into my arms. "Thank you my love." Marjorie says and I leave to the sleep room and lay her down in the cot and go back into the room.

"Is she okay." Winter asks as I rejoin him and sit with my group. "Yes she fine now just needed cuddles from Marjorie and she's now down for a nap since she fell asleep In Marjorie's arms." I say and go back To reading a book to my group and winter continues with his group soon enough it's home time and all children are collected there only autumn-jade left since Marjorie is still doing last of the emails. I tidy the room while winter entertains autumn. Marjorie walks in. "Mummy, mummy." Autumn-jade says while walking over to Marjorie. "Hello my little princess." Marjorie says picking her up. "Shall we go out to daddy's car and go home and get ready for you cousins party." Marjorie says. "Yey!" She practically shouts down Marjorie's ear and they leave to go to the car park where Reece is waiting for them and I finish cleaning the room. I jump as I feel arms snake round my waist and I smell a familiar scent I'd never forget and instantly know it's autumn I relax into her arms as she rest her chin on my shoulder. "Hello my sweet." She says gently kisses the nape of my neck. "Hello darling." I say turning around wrapping my arms around her neck and lean up to kiss her. "Ready to go." She asks pulling away from the embrace and taking my hand. "All ready love." I say walking out of the room and locking it up. We lock the main door and get in the car and drive home which is only a 10 minute drive from the nursery.

Once we get home we go inside and autumn insisted on doing the cooking so I put all the banners up and blew up all the balloons and getting all the presents for our now 4 year old little girl I can't believe she's grown up so fast where have the last 4 years gone. I then go into the kitchen and help autumn sort the deserts out and fruit. We then hear the a knock to the door I go to answer it and it's Reece Marjorie and little autumn, Carly, sorscha,clodagh with Quinn. I let them all in and we sit in the living room and wait for my mum and the girls. I then her the door open and hear the girls run into 5e kitchen. "Mama." They shout running to autumn. "Hello my darlings." I hear autumn say and give them kisses on their head. I then hear them running to the living room where everyone is. "Mummy" "mum." Both the girls say coming over to me and gives me a hug I kiss them on their hands and then they go and say hello to everyone else. My mum takes her shoes off at the door and goes into the kitchen. "Hello autumn how are you." I hear my mum ask my fiancée. "I'm very well thank you Hannah how are you." Autumn says. "I'm alright dear." My mum replies. They both come into the living room. "Gracie do you want to come open your presents love." I say to her and she comes running over and rips the paper off her presents once she has opened them all she goes back to playing.

After a few hours everyone goes home and the girls are in bed fast asleep me and autumn are in our bed watching films together. "Are you okay my sweet." Autumn says looking at me lovingly. "Yes my love I'm okay I just can't believe our little girl is 4 now." I say with tears in my eyes. "I know baby she's grown up so fast and she looks more and more like you everyday both of our girls do and they are just as beautiful as you darling." She says kissing me lovingly and I smile into the kiss I lay down with my head on her chest and she plays with my hair. "Goodnight sweetheart I love you." She says kissing the top off my head. "Goodnight my love I love you too." I say falling into a deep sleep.
