Jordan's face so serious as he grabbed his jacket.
"I have to find my car"
He said, his voice low but firm.
"It's really important to me. I'm not going back to Manila without it."
Dave, who had been sitting casually, looked up from his phone.
"You sure you wanna head out now? It's late, Bro."
Jordan didn't look back as he zipped up his jacket.
"I don't care. I'll go wherever I need to. I need to get it back."
Dave sighed but didn't argue. He knew how stubborn Jordan could be, especially when it came to things that mattered to him.
"Alright, but you better be careful. You know how dangerous things can get in that Barrio."
Jordan turned to him, his eyes narrowed.
"I know what I'm doing. I'm not scared of anything. Just make sure Patricia's safe while I'm gone."
Dave raised an eyebrow, a smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth.
"I can handle Patricia. You don't have to worry about that."
Jordan's expression didn't soften.
"No, Dave. You don't understand. Keep her safe, okay? Don't let anything happen to her."
Dave's smirk faded as he saw the intensity in Jordan's eyes.
"Of course, Bro."
Jordan took a deep breath, looking like he was trying to figure out how to say what he needed to.
"I'm trusting you with this. I'm trusting you to keep her out of harm's way. Don't let anything happen to her while I'm gone. Promise me."
Dave hesitated for a moment, his playful demeanor slipping.
"I promise, Bro. I'll take care of Patricia. But you better be careful out there. Don't do anything crazy."
Patricia looked up at him, her face filled with doubt
"Please, Babe come back safe okay?"
Jordan nodded once, then turned to leave, his voice strong but urgent.
"I'm doing this for us. I'll be back soon. And Dave... don't forget our promise. Our only one rule, Bro."
Dave and Patricia watched as Jordan walked out the door, his footsteps echoing in the hallway. He shook his head, trying to shake off the heavy feeling that lingered. He pulled his jacket tighter around him and grabbed his bike. The night was cold, and the wind cut through his clothes, but he had to do this.
Dave's jaw tightened. "I'll protect you, Patricia. I promised Jordan I would."
Dave took a step back, his hand running through his hair.
Before she could respond, the sound of a bike approaching could be heard from outside. Both Patricia and Dave turned to the window, and for a moment, the tension in the room seemed to freeze.
Dave broke the silence, his voice calm but tinged with something darker.
"It's just you and me now, Patricia"
He said, his eyes locking with hers.
"I was only gone for a day. Did you miss me?"
Patricia glanced at him, surprised by his sudden statement. She hadn't expected him to speak so openly after everything that had just happened. But before she could respond, Dave continued, his tone shifting.
