" Mumma " Aadhya's sudden exclamation , dragged attention of Anirudh towards the British woman who standing a far and was looking at them.

Emily Awasthi looked at her daughter coming out from the courtroom after winning her first case , wearing the barrister clock ,carrying the spark of win in her eyes , and a dazzling smile adorning her face. Her eyes travelled towards the Indian attire that she carried elegantly .She couldn't help but drifted back into the lane of memories where image of her daughter lies who was more Britisher than Indian .Along with that image , horror of specific accident too became afresh..

Years ago when Emily got to know about terrible misfortune that had fallen on the ship from which her daughter, Aadhya ,was returning from India , she had almost lost her senses .In the hospital of London, while looking for her daughter, she felt the fear of inevitable. Even when her husband told her that he had found her daughter among injured people ,she couldn't shrug off the intuition of some omen , though she felt some relief.

She didn't need to look at black hair scattered on the pillow, to know that the girl who was lying on the hospital bed was not her daughter who was owner of blonde hair just like her. After that she couldn't remember anything accept shouting her lungs out, yelling at everyone and begging to give her daughter. She indeed got her daughter but not amongst the living. Though her daughter had lost her life ,she felt like she had turned into corpse.

When they were completing the formalities to take body of her daughter, her husband overheard some hospital staffs who were talking about quitting the treatment of the girl whom they thought of as their daughter.

"Her relative came,Emily .He was looking for her frantically. He was almost on the door of her room and yet ... because of me ..Just because I identified that girl as my daughter ,he returned from the door....If he could meet her ,he would not let her die. If that girl died I would feel like I am the killer " Her husband confessed in front of her and both of them decided to bear the expenses of her treatment

Are you sure Mr.Awasthi?"  Doctor 's voice was laded with scepticism. " Situation of that girl is not hopeful. Lower part of her face was dangerously distorted ...Jaws are broken .....Also She got a heavy blew on back of her head that might have caused severe damage to the brain . She may not remain in her sense after getting conscious .Her getting consciousness was the doubtful at the first place. Her treatment would cost a fortune."

"You don't need  to worry about that doctor. Just do whatever needed to be done" Her husband replied firmly.

That girl didn't get consciousness for one and half year but showed improvement. Thankfully during world war , medical science had improved enough to treat the kind of distortion that the girl was bearing.

"We tried as much as we can .Her Jaws and lips are mended but we are not sure that it resembles to her erstwhile look and the scars of the surgery may remain present for longer period" Doctor had informed her husband

They were waiting for that girl to gain consciousness so that they could inform her family and could get rid off their guilt.

However when that girl gained consciousness ,she couldn't speak anything due to her face surgery and seemed to be utterly restless. Everytime She  fainted within five minutes of gaining consciousness.
