Jonas Pate, the co-creator of Outerbanks, hired Elaine back in 2019 as his assistant since he also directs the show.
About a week ago, an anonymous post was made in which it was said that Elaine was causing trouble on set (getting too involved + complaining about Jiara) and as a result, Jonas' daughter, Lilah, had to step in.
The anonymous post said, "The Pates themselves dislike Elaine, and ofc that was a big problem. her behavior went as far as arguing with Jonas Pare's daughter, lilah, who now has Elaine unfollowed. if you were in the fandom since 2020, you would know that Elaine and Lilah were quite close."
No one knows how true that anonymous post is but, Lilah and Elaine were very close until, Lilah unfollowed Elaine.

It was later confirmed by anonymous that Elaine was fired that same exact day Madison unfollowed her (during the whole oysters situation).
Allegedly, it is being said that Rudy was not happy with the decision to let Elaine go. After this supposed rumor, a fan noticed that one of the OBX writers, Josh Pate, unfollowed Rudy. The wife of Jonas Pate has unfollowed both Rudy and Elaine, while still following the rest of the cast. Jonas Pate has also unfollowed Elaine, his ex-assistant (who he fired).
About four days before that a Madelyn Cline interview dropped. She allured to the fact that OBX is nearing the end.
Madelyn said, "They've seen me through so much. But wrapping up this season, there was a sense of looming finality. The timing is right. I feel ready to differentiate myself, to explore new spaces and have some wonder about stories that I haven't been a part of telling."
Two days after that interview, OBX dropped a promotional video for season 4, the video of the Pogues promoting their surf shop. Fans noticed that Rudy was being distant from the rest of the cast. Rudy and Madison were spotted nowhere near each other and fans were pissed because IN CHARACTER, they should be able to give us Jiara content.
Madison then dropped the video on her Instagram account and tagged Mariah on the post— Mariah does occasional photography. As you may have learned by now, although Outerbanks is one of the most successful series, they choose to not hire a professional photographer that has no personal relationship with the cast.
