003. relationships?

During 2019-2020, Madison was dating an older guy named Justin. He is a cameraman, so perhaps he worked on Outerbanks? It's not confirmed if he worked on Outerbanks or not. Here's what I found on her instagram:

After their breakup, Madison unfollowed Justin and Justin unfollowed her. HOWEVER, Elaine is following Justin and Justin is following her on instagram.

Rudy was dating a girl called Teo Marcella from 2019-2020. There's a lot to say about their relationship, which I speak about it all on chapter 016. 

Once season 1 aired, Madison and Rudy got into new relationships.

Around late May 2020, rumors began that Rudy was dating Elaine Siemek, who at the time (now fired), was the OBX director's assistant. On June 25, 2020, Madison confirmed her relationship with Mariah Linney, who she met on TikTok, in an Instagram post.

In late June/early July, fans noticed that Madison & Rudy stopped posting their usual selfies/photos and they even stopped interacting through social media like they used to. On Rudy's birthday (August 12), Madison reposted an old picture of her and Rudy and captioned it, "Happy birthday Pankow," which people thought was very dry. On the same day, she tweeted something that implied that her friendship with Rudy was ruined.

Madison Bailey tweeted "The internet has ruined an abundance of friendships."

Why do people hate Elaine Siemek?

Elaine drags Rudy away from his fans while he's in the middle of interacting with them. This was the first time Rudy got to experience seeing fans in person because season one came out during the pandemic and he never got to get that experience until that moment.

Her friend tweeted that Elaine and her were having a text message conversation and Elaine said, "EVEN PSYCHO GIRLS HAVE BFS. I'm fucking normal wtff. Maybe I need to cut my wrists to get a man. Nope no."

A Instagram fan account called "theobxbr", now  they deactivated, admitted that Elaine would message them and ask them to post pictures of her and Rudy in exchange for videos of her and Rudy  or of just Rudy "exclusively."

She has also saved some controversial pins on her pinterest board, such as:

"Why would a bacteria be considered life on Mars... and a heartbeat NOT considered life on Earth?"

"You should learn to take a joke as easily as you take a dick, whore."

Why do people hate Mariah Linney?

Mariah went out of her way to make it clear that she did not like Rudy. The reason is because she knows a lot of people love Rudy and Madison together. Mariah was on TikTok live with Madison and when someone brought up Rudy, she instantly got rude and defensive.

Someone asked, "do you like Rudy?" Mariah replied, "hell no, hell no." Madison just replied, "stop. Rudy is my friend. Rudy is my friend." Mariah continued and said, "we are not doing this. Stop putting those up."

She was seen liking a pro Isreal  post and reposting a tiktok that was making fun of someone disabled. I will say that since she got called out, she has promoted donating to Palestine, and has donated herself. I'm glad she educated herself and really hope she isn't being performative.

Another reason why she's hated is because people feel like she leaches off of Madison too much. This is said because Mariah practically has no job outside of her social media platform, in which Madison gave her. It's never her getting her own opportunities and being her own person.

In fact, Mariah created an Instagram subscription where she had fans (Madison's fans) pay her $16.50 a month, in exchange for them to get exclusive content. Those subscribed have said that the only posts she would put up were of either her and Madison together or of just Madison. You can basically say she was selling pictures of her girlfriend.
