Anyway, back in August, an anonymous Outerbanks account on tumblr said that Rudy asked to be killed off the show and that JJ was gonna die in 4x10. No one believed them because it sounded ridiculous.
But JJ did die!
The anonymous account was completely correct!
The writers are clearly trying their hardest to cover for Rudy by saying his death was always planned, but we obviously know the real truth. Clearly, it wasn't planned if so much time was wasted shooting multiple endings hoping he would change his mind.
Josh Pate said, "It was a very difficult decision because he's such a great piece of the ensemble. It sets the stage for an epic fifth and final season. We're planning a redemption story and a season that embodies the friendship that JJ has come to represent. JJ's death was a difficult but necessary part of the story's architecture, and we plan to honor that as much as we can because we love the character as much as the fans do. And Rudy is a great friend of ours."
""It was actually an idea that was almost present from the beginning of the series that, at some point, one of the Pogues would die," the screenwriter explained. "By the second season, we realized it would be JJ. And we even talked about it with Rudy far off in the future, like, 'When this character goes, it might be in Kiara's arms.'""
Following, interviewers asked the co-creators of Outerbanks some questions. The answer Jonas Pate gave seemed like he was simply trying to bait views for season 5, as he is aware many people will not be watching because of JJ's death.
Interviewer: "Do we think there's a chance that we might see JJ back again in some form?"
Jonas Pate: I'd never say never."

It was discovered that Rudy and Madison were using their stunt doubles to do their romantic scenes.

November 19 2024, Outerbanks have posted on their instagram, a bunch of photos and BTS of the Pogues (+ Drew Starkey as Rafe) in Morocco.
Their dump included a BTS video of the Pogues driving in their car and the distance between Rudy and Madison is insane. Aren't they meant to be a couple in the series? Yet, here, it seems like they are social distancing.
