Jungkook was standing frozen outside of the door,

his hand was hovering near the handle but never moving to open it. His sharp ears caught her muffled cries, broken by painful laughter that was echoed through the walls. The sound twisted something deep inside him, a feeling he couldn't name. It wasn’t guilt—he wasn’t the kind of man who felt that. It wasn’t pity either. Then what the hell was it?

His chest felt heavy, like a weight pressing down on him, refusing to let him breathe properly. He clenched his jaw, his sharp features tensing as his thoughts waged war in his mind.

Get a grip, Jungkook. Leave. Walk away. You don’t care about her. You never cared. His inner voice hissed, sharp and unforgiving. But his feet stayed rooted to the floor.

it's been an hours she's inside and didn't take a step out form the room.

She sobbed louder now, His fists curled tightly at his sides, his knuckles white from the force.

"Why are you even here?" he muttered under his breath, a bitter smile tugging at the corner of his lips. "She hates you. You hate her. That’s how it’s always been. So why can’t you leave?"

The door creaked slightly under the force of her slamming something on the other side. He blinked his eyes slightly, an uncharacteristic reaction from a man who feared nothing.

But this wasn’t fear—it was something far worse. Something he didn’t want to name.

Inside, hers voice cracked, filled with venom and heartbreak. "Why me? Why did it have to be him?!" she screamed, her voice raw with anguish. He could imagine her—sitting on the floor, hugging herself, broken and lost. He hated the image because it made him want to fix it. And he didn’t fix things. He destroyed them.

His grip on his emotions slipped for a moment, and he let out a frustrated sigh, leaning his forehead against the cold wall. "Damn it," he cursed under his breath. "Why does it feel like this?"

The laughter behind the door started again, harsh and bitter, and it clawed at his chest. He didn’t know what to do—walk in and face her anger or leave and let her drown in it alone. Either way, he knew he’d only make things worse.

But then she spoke again, her voice trembling, low but clear enough for him to hear through the door. "I hate him. I hate him so much… but why does it hurt like this?" Her words hit him like a punch to the gut, stealing whatever air he had left in his lungs.

He wanted to barge in, to say something.... yet, he couldn’t move. He stood there, in a silent shadow, listening to her fall apart.

"Jungkook," she whispered his name like it was a curse, a plea, and a weapon all at once.

He clenched his jaw tighter, biting back the urge to respond. Don’t go in. She doesn’t need you. She doesn’t want you. His mind screamed, but his heart betrayed him, pushing him closer to the door.

And still, he didn’t move.

But then, suddenly, her cries stopped. The room fell silent , the kind of silence that clawed at his sanity.

His pulse quickened, panic creeping into his chest despite the cold front he always maintained.

His mind spun out of control. What’s happening in there? Why did she stop? The silence was louder than her sobs, louder than her screams.

“Shit!” he muttered under his breath, his hand raking through his dark hair as his composure cracked. “I’ll go insane here.” Without another thought, he pushed the door open,
