"WHAT'S KEY IS time. You can survive this hunt as long as you can keep running until the music starts playing again."
I'm going to help as many as I can to run away from demons.
I'm not going to let them get killed.
I'm going to protect then, at least the ones I can reach.
And we're going to survive this.
Emma thought to herself.
A few moments later, the music rang out throughout the village, making it clear to Emma that the hunt was over.
"It's over." She whispered to herself, her heart racing from the adrenaline.
We made it...
"IS ANYONE HURT?" A voice called out, catching Emma's attention. She recognised it immediately, but she turned around and couldn't see her.
She convinced herself that it was just her mind playing tricks on her.
"If you're hurt, come this way!" Another voice called out.
First aid kits?
They can get proper treatment.
Oh, shit! Theo was hurt!
With that, Emma ran off to find Theo, Jake and Monica as quickly as she could. She called out their names several times, earning no response.
Worry began to settle in her stomach quickly as she found Theo alone, tears streaming down his face.
"Theo?" She asked, approaching him slowly.
"E-Emma!" He cried out, his whole arm covered in blood now.
Oh, my god.
Emma thought to herself, having to stop herself from gasping.
She noticed that he was alone too, Monica and Jake weren't there.
"Theo? Where are Monica and Jake?" She asked, her voice coming out as shaky in worry.
Theo's hand fell from his wound as he let out a cry, leaning on Monica's axe that was now covered in blood. "They're both dead." He said.
