The other contestants were perplexed. The fighters in the center had stopped moving. It looked like they were talking? Shinobu tried to make out the conversation, but the crowd was far too noisy. She leaned over the railing to get a better look at their faces. It was too hard to tell, but they all looked very serious. Hendricks tapped her on the shoulder.
"What's the hold up?"

The bard looked around at the stadium. Everyone else looked confused as well. He noticed a particularly agitated audience member fiddling with his user interface. Hendricks felt the hairs on the back of his neck raise. A sense of great uneasiness washed over him, and it was reinforced when he saw that Gabriel was missing.
"Hey Shino, come on I think we better get ready to leave. This is weird."

Hendricks looked at the other contestants. They looked bored no none the wiser to the situation. He didn't see Gabriel anywhere though. Ogun was missing too. Strange...
"What the hell is going on?!" Gearhardt shouted furiously. They could see him slamming his hand on his Ui screen repeatedly. "Is this piece of garbage game bugging out?!"
Hendricks, curious about what the knight was so angry about, opened his own screen. He scrolled through the different settings, unsure of what the problem was. Then, he made a startling realization.
