Ruby Rose is standing near the edge of a cliff, infront of a tombstone, the sun covering the totality of the place.
This is the grave of her mother, Summer Rose.
Ruby: Hey, mom. Sorry I didn't come by in a while. Things have been... Well, things have been pretty busy. Oh ! Dad's here too ! He's... You know... Dad. he's still teaching at Signal, but he told me he's going out on some mission soon, I think he misses going on adventure with you. I miss you too.
Ruby: I haven't been kicked out of Beacon yet, so that's cool. I think being on a team with Yang help. I keep her in line... That was a joke. You can tell she's a great fighter, you can tell she learned a lot from Dad. Also, Weiss and Blake, Oh ! they're my teammates ! Together we form team RWBY, and yes before you ask it does cause a lot of confusion. I made a bunch of new friends and some... Uh let's say odd teachers. Two of my friends even have some special powers, that are not really aura, Well I don't exactly understand, but they are really strong. They look like a bit like delinquent but they're actually big softies when you know them. One is very tall, but always kind, but he can hit ultra hard, we call him Chad, not really his name but it doesn't bother him. Then you have Y/N, he look like he want to pick fights often while he actually spend more time trying to protect his friends. He really does his best. I like that about him... Oh, we also stopped some bad guys too ! it's like they say: Like mother, like daughter. I still wonder why Ozpin let me enter his school early, then again, Y/N and Chad invited themselves into it, and he let them stay. It's funny the more I get to know him more he start to sound like Uncle Qrow.
Zwei: Bark !
Ruby turn around to see her dad and Zwei, waiting for her.
Ruby: Look like Dad's back ! I got to go ! He's dropping off at Beacon for the Tournament Match before he goes on his next mission ! Wish me luck !
She run to her dad.

Y/N walk in a ruined village, with even less luck, the weather wasn't good, he is soaked wet under the rain. The mood was heavy. Chad wasn't with him today as he stayed in Vale to train with Xcution.
He stop in front of what looks like a grave If you can call it like that as it was some wooden sticks tied together to form a cross with a name engraved on it. Masaki L/N.
Y/N's mother, and only parent.
He lost her about 3 years ago, when his village and the neighboor village, Chad's village got crushed in a Grimm rampage. She gave her life for Y/N to escape, however that's not how Y/N took it, as he still think he let her die that day.
He is now standing in front of it, look at the grave with lifeless eyes, rain dropping like tears on his face.

Y/N POV Flashback
My mom was like the sun to me, always revolving around her. Not even once I see her mad or cry. Trouble in a parent's heart gets carried straight down to theirs children.
A 9 years old Y/N is walking next to his mother, he look at her with a bright smile.
Young Y/N: Momma, can I hold you hand ?
Masaki: Of course you can !
She take his little hand into her, as they were walking to theirs house.
I think she was the person who knew that well, no matter what sorts of bad things happened, I would forget it all by just returning to mom's side.
A 10 years old Y/N look at his mom weapon, Engetsu, with sparkles in his eyes.
Young Y/N: Momma ! I wanna be a hunter as strong as you are when I grow up, like that I can protect you !
Masaki: Ha ha, how reliable. Obviously you're gonna be strong, you're my son after all.
Mom, who always protected me.
Rain is pouring, screams could be heard everywhere. A 12 years old Y/N was running with his mom, terrified as he could see Grimm slaughtering the peoples in his village. Masaki, pull out Engetsu from the scabbard, use his fire dust, making the blade ignite in bright flames.
Masaki: Getsuga Tensho !
She swing her sword and carbonised multiple grimms at once. She kneel in front of Y/N and hold him by his shoulders.
Masaki: Listen to me very well. Go as far as you can, If you meet Yasutora, go with him. I called someone to get you, she a nice girl called Orihime, do everything she tells you.
Young Y/N: And you ! You can't stay here !
Masaki: I have to, It's my job to get ride of those things. Don't worry, mom is very strong.
Young Y/N: I-I'm sure I can protect you !
Masaki: No, not yet, you can't protect me yet. And you should protect, not only me but also the others peoples close to you, the peoples you love.
Young Y/N start crying as he start running as fast as his little legs can take him. Masaki look at her son with sadness in her eyes.
Masaki: Look fast you are already. I love you, Y/N.
It was the last time I ever saw her.
3rd POV Flashback end
Y/N: Hey, mom. Been a while. Are you doing well ? You're dead, so I guess that question is a bit pointless. I'm doing fine on my side. I'm in Beacon now, with Chad, we're roommate and all. Oh, and big sis Orihime is doing well too, she's working at an hospital in Vale. I made some friends at Beacon, team RWBY and team JNPR, they are funny peoples to hang around. I'm particularly close to Ruby, the leader of team RWBY, yeah that's confusing hehe... She's a good person, always smiling, kind to everyone. I'm sure you would have like her. Oh, I have some... weird teachers, but I still have good grades, don't sweat about it. There's also Ozpin, I don't trust this guy too much. But well, all in all, It's fun to be in Vale. I wish I could show you all of that...
Y/N: I... I miss you.
Y/N turn and start walking away, but stop in his track.
Y/N: I love you, mom. See ya next time.
Y/N put his hands in his pockets and walk away, leaving the grave and what supposed to be a village.
