There were two things I could do in this moment. A, I could deny everything, and slither my way out of this situation, or B, just tell the truth.

I needed and careful consideration to answer her, which required time, which I didn't have.

So, I sat in front of her, eyes wide and mouth agape as I searched for words.

Midnights watched me, her lips slowly curving into a sly smile.

"Nine? Are you still in there?" She asked.

I nodded.

"So... do you?"

I felt my face flush with heat, my palms beginning to sweat.

If I did just tell her, how would we move on? What if she didn't feel the same and we had to continue living together!

But also, Midnights was the last person I'd want to lie to. I'd already been not entirely truthful tonight, so perhaps I just had to.

However, while the girl was improving so much, I didn't want anything to come between her and the improvement of her mental health.

So I said nothing.

I fell silent, looking down at my lap.

"Nine?" She shuffled closer.

I kept my gaze down, heart racing in my chest and face still red. As much as I tried, I lacked the superpowers to sink into the ground, unfortunately.

"For the record..." Midnights spoke up, her voice soft, "I think you're pretty hot."

I looked at her, barely believing what I was hearing.

"So... do you?"

It took a moment to regain my focus on the present before I nodded quickly. "Yes, I do. I really do."

A small smile formed on Midnights' face, and I couldn't help but do the same.

"So... what now?" She wondered aloud.

I shrugged.

"Well... I think you need some dinner," she pointed out.

I shrunk back a little, "Mid, not now."

"Yes now, come on. Let me take care of you, for once," she got to her feet and offered me a hand.

I took it, blushing lightly. Midnights' eyebrows creased slightly when she pulled me up, likely due to how light I (hopefully) felt.

She lead me back to the kitchen and sat me down at the table, only pulling her hand from mine at the very last minute.

"I'll go heat up some lasagna for you," she murmured before heading into the kitchen.

I rested my head on my hands at the table, beginning to internally panic. By telling Midnights, all control had been swept from my hands, and would probably never be returned to me.

My leg began to bounce under the table, my heart beats quickening. I had no idea how Midnights would go about this, and that added to my fear.

Surely she wouldn't force me to do anything, but at this point, her even suggesting that I ate felt like I was already being forced.

However a small part of me couldn't get over the fact we had just called each other hot. If anything could distract me from the terrifying act ahead of me, it was that.

I didn't think I'd ever blushed so much in my life, like I had then. Midnights was absolutely gorgeous. A living goddess. An absolute deity who was currently living in my house, and had just called me hot.
