Chapter 33
"Waves between us"

The soft morning light filtered through the luxurious curtains, casting a warm glow over the room. Alara lay tangled in the plush white sheets, her hair cascading over the pillow.
She was wearing one of Mingyu's black shirts, the fabric draping over her frame, and nothing else. The faint scent of him lingered on it, a reminder of the night before, a night that had left her flushed and utterly breathless.
Mingyu, freshly showered and dressed in a crisp white button-down with the top two buttons casually undone, quietly entered the room.
His hair was damp, and his sleeves were rolled up, revealing the tattoos that inked his forearms.
He paused at the foot of the bed, a rare softness in his gaze as he took in the sight of her his Alara, peaceful and vulnerable, looking utterly his.
"Baby," he murmured, his deep voice breaking the morning stillness. He walked closer, sitting down on the edge of the bed. "Time to wake up."
Alara stirred, a sleepy groan escaping her lips as she buried her face deeper into the pillow.
A small smirk tugged at Mingyu's lips as he leaned down, brushing a strand of hair away from her cheek.
Her lashes fluttered slightly, and as her eyes opened, the first thing she saw was him leaning over her.
His lips quirked into a teasing smile before he leaned in, capturing her lips in a soft, lingering kiss. It was warm and slow, the kind of kiss that made her stomach flutter despite the haze of sleep.
"You kiss me awake now?" she murmured against his lips, her voice hoarse but tinged with amusement.
"It's the least I could do after last night," Mingyu teased, his hand trailing gently along her cheek. "You didn't complain then, and I don't expect you to start now."
Her cheeks flushed, and she pushed lightly at his chest, her sleepy eyes narrowing. "Stop teasing me. It's too early for this."
He chuckled, leaning back just enough to grab a small velvet box from the nightstand. "If you think this is me teasing, you're in for a surprise, baby."
She blinked, sitting up slightly, the oversized shirt slipping down one shoulder as she focused on the box he held. "What's that?"
Mingyu opened it with a flourish, revealing a delicate diamond bracelet that sparkled brilliantly even in the muted morning light. "A gift," he said simply, his eyes watching her reaction. "You're going to wear it all the time."
Her gaze shifted between the bracelet and him, her brow furrowing slightly. "Mingyu... it's beautiful, but-"
"No buts," he interrupted, taking her wrist gently and sliding the bracelet on. The cool metal against her skin made her shiver slightly. "It's not just a bracelet, baby. It's a reminder."
