In the quiet haven of Puqi Shrine, Hua Cheng and Xie Lian spent their days basking in the simplicity of each other's company. Peaceful mornings turned into lighthearted afternoons..filled with conversations, subtle glances and occasional playful moments. Despite their divine powers and turbulent pasts, the shrine became a sanctuary where they could truly be themselves.

One such afternoon, Xie Lian found himself struck by a sudden idea. Looking at Hua Cheng’s flowing silver hair..gleaming like moonlight, he wondered..what would it look like if styled differently?

The idea was innocent enough but as he picked up a comb, he had no idea what chaos he was about to unleash.

Hua Cheng sat cross-legged on the floor of the shrine as his crimson robes pooling around him like liquid fire. Xie Lian stood behind him and his fingers gently sifting through his long and silken hair.

“San Lang” Xie Lian began and a smile tugging at his lips. “Your hair is so beautiful. Have you ever tried styling it?”

Hua Cheng tilted his head slightly and looking down at Xie Lian with his ever-present adoration. “Why would I, Gege? I only care about whether you find me pleasing to look at.”

Xie Lian chuckled softly. “You already know you’re pleasing to look at. But wouldn’t it be fun to try something new?”

Hua Cheng’s smile widened and he leaned back a little..making himself comfortable. “If it’s you doing it, Gege.. I’ll let you do whatever you want to my hair.”

“That’s dangerous permission to give” Xie Lian teased softly and picking up a comb. He gently began brushing Hua Cheng’s hair, marveling at its smoothness. “San Lang, your hair is so perfect. Do you even need to comb it?”

Hua Cheng laughed lightly. “It’s perfect because I knew you’d be touching it one day.” Xie Lian’s hand paused mid-brush. He leaned forward to swat Hua Cheng’s shoulder though his cheeks flushed pink. “Stop saying things like that out of nowhere!”

Hua Cheng turned his head slightly while grinning. “But it’s true, Gege. Everything about me exists for you.”

Xie Lian sighed and shaking his head with a small laugh. “You’re incorrigible.” As he resumed combing, an idea struck him. “Alright..” he said decisively, “let’s try a braid.”

“A braid?” Hua Cheng raised a brow. “Will it make me look more handsome for you?”

“Depends on how well I do it..” Xie Lian replied with a laugh. “Hold still.”

Hua Cheng obediently sat still though his amusement was evident in the small smirk on his lips. Xie Lian began weaving the strands together and his fingers surprisingly deft. “You have so much hair, San Lang. It’s like working on silk. Have you always kept it this long?”
