The Paradise Manor, with its grand halls and shimmering treasures had always been a testament to Hua Cheng’s unparalleled power and devotion to Xie Lian. Every corner of the place seemed to carry a hint of their shared stories, a reflection of Hua Cheng’s endless love.

On one particular day, Xie Lian sat comfortably on the edge of a plush couch in the main hall, his bare feet resting against the cool and smooth marble floor. He seemed completely at ease, idly sipping tea while Hua Cheng sat across from him..pretending to read a scroll but instead watching his every move with quiet adoration.

Suddenly, Xie Lian stood and began wandering toward the open balcony, his bare feet padding softly on the cold floor. Hua Cheng immediately straightened, his gaze fixed on Xie Lian's feet.

"Gege" Hua Cheng said with a slight frown, setting aside the scroll. "Why don’t you wear slippers? The floor is cold."

Xie Lian glanced back with a gentle laugh. "San Lang, I’ve walked on much worse surfaces. A bit of cool marble is nothing."

“That doesn’t mean you should endure it.." Hua Cheng replied firmly..already mentally cataloging ways to remedy the situation.

Xie Lian waved him off, stepping out onto the balcony. Hua Cheng followed, his protective instincts kicking in.

Later that day, Hua Cheng summoned Yin Yu, who approached with an air of calm resignation, knowing that any request from Hua Cheng likely meant a mountain of work.

"Hua Chengzhu" Yin Yu greeted, bowing. "What can I do for you today?"

Hua Cheng stood in the center of the hall, his arms crossed. "I want carpets. Everywhere."

Yin Yu blinked. "E-everywhere? In the entire Paradise Manor?"

"Yes. Every hall, every room, every corridor. Anywhere Gege might walk."

"But, Hua Chengzhu.. Paradise Manor is...massive. That will take-"

"It doesn't matter how long it takes" Hua Cheng interrupted, his tone leaving no room for argument. "It must be done. Gege likes walking barefoot and I don’t want him to feel even the slightest discomfort."

Yin Yu sighed but nodded. "Understood, Hua Chengzhu..."

Meanwhile, Xie Lian, unaware of the commotion his barefoot wandering had caused, spent the afternoon tending to a small garden within the manor. When he returned to the main hall later, he noticed several workers rolling out luxurious carpets along the floor.

He tilted his head in curiosity, catching sight of Yin Yu supervising the process with a rather exasperated expression.

"Yin Yu" Xie Lian called out. "What’s going on?"

Yin Yu hesitated, glancing around as if searching for an escape route. "Uh.. Hua Chengzhu orders. Carpets. Everywhere."

"Everywhere?" Xie Lian repeated, his eyes widening slightly.

Before Yin Yu could respond, Hua Cheng appeared, his usual confident smile in place. "Gege, do you like them?"

Xie Lian turned to Hua Cheng, his expression a mix of amusement and confusion. "San Lang, what’s all this about?"

"I noticed how much you enjoy walking barefoot.." Hua Cheng said smoothly, stepping closer. "So, I thought it would be nice to make every step as comfortable as possible for you."

Xie Lian couldn’t help but laugh softly. "San Lang, you’re spoiling me."

"Is it working?" Hua Cheng asked, his tone teasing but his gaze sincere.

Xie Lian reached out, taking Hua Cheng’s hand in his own. "You’re always working too hard for my sake. Thank you."

Hua Cheng’s smile softened, his thumb brushing against Xie Lian’s fingers. "For you, Gege, it’s never too much."

That evening, the two of them walked through the manor together...now fully carpeted. Xie Lian’s bare feet sank into the soft material and he couldn’t deny how pleasant it felt.

"San Lang" he said, glancing up at Hua Cheng with a smile. "What would you do if I decided I liked stone floors better?"

Hua Cheng chuckled, leaning closer until their faces were mere inches apart. "Then I’d make sure every step you took on those stone floors felt like walking on clouds."

Xie Lian’s cheeks flushed faintly at the intimate tone, and before he could respond, Hua Cheng leaned in, placing a soft kiss on his cheek.

"Gege deserves only the best" Hua Cheng murmured, his voice low and warm.

Xie Lian smiled, his heart full as he rested his head against Hua Cheng’s shoulder. "San Lang, you're so sweet"

"And you, Gege.." Hua Cheng replied, wrapping an arm around him. "Are everything." Xie Lian blushed and smiled with a flowery heart.
