The streets of Ghost City hummed with their usual chaos..laughter, bartering and the occasional ghostly quarrel. But tonight, the commotion seemed to swirl with an unusual energy an undercurrent of excitement that pulsed through the air like a heartbeat.
At the heart of it all stood Paradise Manor, illuminated with a thousand crimson lanterns that cast a warm..ethereal glow across its grand structure. Tonight was no ordinary evening. Rumors had spread like wildfire.. Hua Cheng, the Ghost King of the City, had something special planned. Something that had the entire underworld buzzing with anticipation.
Inside the manor, in a private chamber adorned with intricate carvings of lotuses and red silk drapes, Xie Lian stood before a mirror. His reflection showed a man draped in elegant crimson wedding robes..the fine embroidery catching the soft candlelight. A delicate veil rested on his head..ready to be lowered at the right moment.
He smoothed the fabric nervously, his cheeks flushed. "San Lang... what are you planning?" he murmured to himself as his heart fluttering like a trapped bird.
Behind him, the door creaked open and the familiar sound of soft and purposeful footsteps made his heart leap.
"Gege" Hua Cheng's voice was low and smooth..like silk brushing against skin. "You look breathtaking."
Xie Lian turned to see Hua Cheng standing in the doorway as his figure framed by the golden-red glow of the lanterns. Dressed in his usual red robes..Hua Cheng looked impossibly handsome but it was the way his single crimson eye gazed at Xie Lian that made his breath hitch.
"San Lang.." Xie Lian said, his voice soft but teasing. "What is all this? The robes, the decorations... it feels like you're planning a wedding."
Hua Cheng's lips curved into a mischievous smile. "And if I said I was?"
Xie Lian's face turned a deeper shade of red. "You're always teasing me..."
Hua Cheng stepped closer, the air between them growing warmer with every step. "Gege, I never tease about things that matter. Tonight is for you. For us."
Xie Lian's heart swelled at Hua Cheng's words. He wanted to say something but the intensity of Hua Cheng's gaze left him momentarily speechless.
"Do you know why I wanted you to wear this?" Hua Cheng asked as his fingers brushing against the embroidered sleeves of Xie Lian's robes.
Xie Lian shook his head and his voice caught in his throat.
"It's because you're my bride" Hua Cheng said as his voice dropping to a whisper as he leaned in and his lips hovering close to Xie Lian's ear. "And no one else deserves to see you like this. Only me."
Xie Lian's breath hitched and he turned his head slightly to meet Hua Cheng's gaze. "San Lang... you always know how to make me flustered."
Hua Cheng chuckled softly and his hand moving to gently cup Xie Lian's cheek. "Then let me make you feel more than just flustered, Gege."
