Haruki found himself in the Eternal Ember Sanctuary, a surreal realm where the landscape was a dazzling mix of pure white light and flickering flames. It felt like a paradox, a blend of heaven and hell, and he stood there, feeling lost and bewildered.
“What is this place?” he asked, his voice filled with a mix of awe and apprehension. “I thought I was about to die.”
“This is the Eternal Ember Sanctuary,” Andres replied with a sense of pride. “Light’s domain.”
“Just what are you, Light?” Haruki queried, his curiosity piqued.
With a shimmer of energy, Light transformed into her human form, revealing a small girl with long red hair cascading like flames and a dress that flickered like fire.
“I’m nobody,” she said softly, her voice barely above a whisper.
Andres gasped in shock at Light's transformation. “Wait, you’re a girl?” he stuttered, a mix of surprise and embarrassment washing over him.
Light's cheeks flushed red as she looked down, clearly shy. “You didn’t ask,” she murmured, her voice low.
Haruki couldn’t help but laugh at the awkwardness between them, easing the tension in the air.
The trio began to walk deeper into the sanctuary, the ethereal environment sparkling around them.
“So how can we train here?” Andres asked, eager to begin their preparation for the battles ahead.
Light turned the question back to him. “What is it that you want to train?”
“All of it,” Andres responded without hesitation, determination shining in his eyes.
Light began to explain the various training areas within the sanctuary, guiding them like an enthusiastic tour guide.
“For Strength Training, we have the Wrestling Giant Chickens. Here, you’ll face blazing quicksand chickens in a coliseum. Completing this will add +1 to your strength permanently,” she elaborated, leading them toward a massive arena.
“Heading west is the Agility Training: The Crazy Chicken Dash. You’ll need to navigate an obstacle course while dodging a thousand blazing quicksand chickens. Completing this adds +1 to your agility permanently.”
“Up north, we have the Endurance Training: The Quicksand Marathon. You’ll race against blazing quicksand chickens that will also fight you. Completing this will grant you +1 to your endurance permanently.”
“Finally, in the east, there’s the Intelligence Training: The Mountain of Phoenix Feathers. You’ll need to count a mountain-sized pile of shimmering, glowing phoenix feathers while battling a wind machine that blows them around. This will add +1 to your intelligence permanently,” she concluded.
After explaining everything, Light returned to her chick form, resting comfortably on Andres's head.
Andres looked at the Mountain of Phoenix Feathers and wrinkled his nose. “I’ll pass on that,” he said, chuckling at the thought of counting feathers while battling a wind machine.
Turning to Haruki, he asked, “Which one are you going to try first?”
“Strength,” Haruki replied, determination in his voice.
“Okay, let’s go there!” Andres said, wanting to train together but also curious to see what the strength training looked like.
As they approached the coliseum, anticipation buzzed in the air, and the training began. Haruki and Andres stepped into the arena, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead in this extraordinary realm.
