Avery's eyes opened to Sebastian's piercing gaze. They lay entwined, the city skyline gleaming outside.
"Last night..." Avery whispered.
Sebastian's fingers traced her lips. "Unforgettable."
Avery's cheeks flushed. "We shouldn't have..."
Sebastian's expression turned serious. "Avery, I've missed you."
Avery's heart skipped a beat.
As they dressed, Avery's thoughts swirled.
What did last night mean?
Was it a mistake?
Or a new beginning?
Downstairs, Emily awaited, eyes narrowing at Sebastian's presence.
"Avery, can I talk to you?" Emily asked, her tone laced with concern.
Avery nodded.
"Be careful, Avery," Emily whispered. "He's got a hold on you again."
Avery sighed. "I know, Emily. But I need answers."
Emily's expression softened. "Just promise me you'll prioritize yourself."
Avery nodded.
Sebastian reappeared, his eyes locked onto Avery.
"I'll pick you up at 7 for the gala meeting," he said.
Avery nodded.
As Sebastian left, Emily turned to Avery.
"What's happening, Avery?"
Avery's voice barely above a whisper. "I don't know, Emily. But I think I'm falling again."
