For someone so little, April Kepner was certainly not delicate. Ivy had known this for a while now, but knowing it and experiencing it were two very different things.

She was currently standing in the airport, April's arms wrapped tightly around her, and she found herself struggling for breath with how aggressively she was being squeezed.

"April," Ivy wheezed, locking eyes with Spencer from where he stood watching, eyes filled with amusement. "April, I'm happy to see you too, but I can't breathe."

"Right, right, sorry. I'm just so glad to be here. Thank you so much for getting me from the airport, and I mean, for the job of course. Seriously, I cannot tell you enough how grateful I am Dr. Woods, really I–"

"You're welcome, April. I'm very glad to have you here," Ivy cut her off swiftly, because while the rambling was slightly endearing, it was also 3AM and Ivy just wanted to get April into Spencer's car and get them home.

Spencer had very graciously agreed to come with her to pick April up from the airport, mostly because he had a bigger car than she did, not that he minded at all. (AN: In my mind, Ivy drives a green Volkswagen Beetle)

The two women separated, both still smiling happily, and Ivy gestured over to Spencer. "April, this is my boyfriend, Dr. Spencer Reid. He's very kindly agreed to let us monopolize his car for the ride back to my- or our place."

"Oh, hi! Nice to meet you Dr. Reid,," April said, grabbing her carry-on from where she had let it drop from the ground. Spencer was glad she didn't try to shake his hand. "And I promise I won't be in your guest room for long, just until I can get situated."

"I really don't mind April, to be completely honest I'm looking forward to having you around for a while. I've missed everyone back in Seattle, you included."

April's smile was genuine, and Ivy could tell just how glad she was to be here. It made Ivy happy, because she was a little nervous that April was only here because it was her only option. While Ivy knew it was almost definitely a part of the reason, she'd like to think that if given a choice Washington would have been a genuine contender anyways.

"I've missed you too," April replied, her eyes getting a little misty. "And I really cannot tell you how glad I am to be here."

Ivy grinned at her, giving her another short squeeze before pulling back. Spencer offered to grab her carry-on bag, prompting April to pump her eyebrows at Ivy when his back was turned and mouth the words "what a gentleman", before he led them to the luggage return area. Ivy had only been in this airport once, but Spencer practically lived here, so an added bonus of his presence was that no one was going to get lost.

Not that Spencer, with the BAU's fancy government funded private jet, ever really needed to get his luggage from the luggage return, but he had basically perfect memory anyways.

Ivy looped her arm through April's as they walked, which made it impossible for her not to notice the way the other woman tensed up when Ivy asked her how Jackson was.

April's smile had dropped slightly, and began to look just a bit forced. Ivy was confused, because those two were each other best friends, or they were when Ivy left, and she wasn't sure what could have possibly changed since then that Mer and Christina wouldn't have told her about.

"April?" Ivy asked questioningly.

"Uh, he's fine, really. It's just.." April glanced over to Spencer who was very much trying to look like he wasn't listening. Ivy almost laughed, he didn't even know who Jackson was, but he was still nosy as hell. "I'll tell you later."
