9:38 AM"This is so dehumanizing." Evelyn mumbled. Evelyn was escorted into the sterile, dimly lit room for her psychological evaluation. The officers were rough, and the psychologist waiting for her didn't bother to hide his irritation. "Sit down," the psychologist snapped, not even looking up from his clipboard.
Evelyn complied looking a bit upset. Two officers began handcuffing her to the chair. "I'm Dr. Clark. Let's get this over with," The blond man said, his tone sharp and dismissive. "Why do you think you're here, Evelyn?" Evelyn's brows furrowed.
"Because.. of what happened earlier?." Evelyn's answer came out sounding both like a question and a statement.
The man rolled his eyes. "That's obvious. What I'm asking is, why did you do this? Did you enjoy causing trouble?"
Evelyn's eyes widened in shock. "No, I didn't do anything." The man huffed "An innocent person wouldn't have gone to such lengths to evade the police. And didn't you also flee after refusing to sign the Sokovia Accords?" Evelyn glared at the man.
"This is such nonsense." Evelyn rolled her eyes. "Oh so now you have an attitude? Just tell me, Why did you try to evade the police?"
"I was scared and confused. I wasn't in Vienna, I'm being framed." The man slammed his clipboard on the table causing Evelyn to flinch.
"Scared and confused," He repeated mockingly. "Is that your excuse for everything? Do you always play the victim? You and your boyfriend Murdered the king of Wakanda. Give it up already." He scoffed
Evelyn felt sick to her stomach. "I'm not playing the victim. I was genuinely terrified. You weren't there, you don't understand." Angry tears began to fill Evelyn's eyes.
Dr. Clark leaned back in his chair, smirking. "Oh, I understand perfectly. People like you always have an excuse. Always blaming someone else for your actions." Evelyn's heart ached.
"Why would the Task Force release these photos to begin with?" Steve stared at the photo of Bucky and Evelyn walking side by side in all black.
"Get the word out, involve as many eyes as we can?" Sharon replied "Right. It's a good way to flush someone out of hiding. Set off a bomb, get your picture taken. Get seven billion people looking for The Winter Soldier and The Phantom."
Sharon looked at Steve questionably "you're saying someone framed them to find them?" Sam looked at Steve "Steve, we looked for the guy for two years, and found nothing. Evelyn has been missing for nearly two weeks. Completely vanished."
"We didn't bomb the UN. That turns a lot of heads." Steve responded "Yeah but that doesn't guarantee that whoever framed them would get them. It guarantees that we would." Sharon frozen as she began to think.
