The morning is thick with tension, and Savi feels as if the walls are closing in on her. She sits at her desk, staring at her phone. A message from Isha pops up, reminding her of her meeting with the groom later today. Her fingers hover over the screen, and a knot of anxiety tightens in her stomach. This is happening, whether I'm ready or not.

Her heart pounds in her chest as memories of Rajat flood her thoughts—his laughter, his teasing, the way his gaze lingered just a second too long. She shakes her head, trying to focus.

"Are you okay, boss?" Meera asks, stepping into the office with a cup of coffee.

"Yeah, just... a lot on my mind," Savi replies, forcing a smile.

Meera studies her for a moment, concern etched on her face. "It's about Rajat, isn't it?"

Savi looks down, biting her lip. "I don't know what to do. I thought I was ready for this engagement, but... it feels wrong."

"Then don't go through with it!" Meera exclaims. "If you're having doubts, that's a sign, right?"

But Savi shakes her head, her voice barely above a whisper. "I can't just back out now. My family is counting on me."

Meera exhales in frustration. "But what about you, Savi? What do you want?"

Savi opens her mouth to respond, but the truth feels trapped inside her. She forces a smile and changes the subject. "Let's get back to work."

The hours tick by slowly as Savi prepares for the meeting with the groom and their families. She can't shake the feeling of unease. As the clock approaches the meeting time, she feels her heart racing. What am I doing?

Finally, the moment arrives. Savi adjusts her outfit nervously as her mother and the groom's family arrive at their home. She puts on her best smile, but inside, she's a whirlwind of emotions.

"Remember, Savi, this is an important step for our family," Isha says, adjusting Savi's hair.

"Yeah, I know," Savi replies, her voice distant.

As everyone settles in the living room, the groom's family begins discussing the engagement plans. Savi nods along, but her thoughts keep drifting back to Rajat—his warm smile, the way he understood her like no one else. What if I made a mistake?

"Let's discuss the engagement date," the groom's father suggests, his voice booming. "How about tomorrow?"

Savi's heart skips a beat. Tomorrow? The weight of that decision hangs heavy in the air. She glances at her mother, who nods eagerly, clearly in favour of the quick engagement.

"Uh, tomorrow sounds good," Savi manages to say, though it feels like a part of her is screaming not to agree.

As they finalise the details, Savi feels a pit of dread in her stomach. The idea of moving forward without addressing her feelings for Rajat feels wrong. She glances at the clock, wishing for a miracle, but reality settles in—she is here, and she can't run from it.

Meanwhile, Rajat stands in his apartment, suitcase in hand, his heart heavy with disappointment. He checks the time and knows he needs to leave for the airport soon. He pulls out his phone to text Savi one last time but hesitates. What would he even say?

He can't shake the feeling of defeat. Maybe she really doesn't want this.

Back at Savi's house, the meeting continues, laughter and excitement filling the air. Savi feels like an outsider in her own life, every cheerful remark only deepening her sense of loss. As they toast to the future, she forces herself to smile, but inside, she feels like she's betraying everything she truly wants.

When the meeting wraps up, Isha pulls Savi aside. "You did great, sweetheart. I'm so proud of you."

Savi manages a weak smile. "Thanks, Aai." But as she watches the families celebrate, she feels a weight settling in her heart.

Later that evening, she sits alone in her room, staring at her phone. The unmade decision lingers over her like a dark cloud. Just then, a message pops up—it's from Rajat, though she knows he must be on his way to the station.

Rajat: "I hope you're doing well. Just wanted you to know I'm thinking of you."

Savi's heart aches at his words. She wants to reach out, to tell him everything, but the fear of disrupting her family's plans keeps her silent. What if it's too late?

Rajat arrives at the airport, the weight of his decision pressing down on him. He checks the time—he has to leave soon. As he stands in the lounge, the announcement blares through the speakers. This is it.

But just as he's about to board, he glances back at the bustling airport, and a part of him wishes he had waited for Savi, hoping for one more chance.

As Savi watches the sunset from her window, she knows she's made her choice. She picks up her phone to reply to Rajat but hesitates. A wave of uncertainty washes over her—she has a life to live, a future to plan, but her heart aches for the man she left behind.

Savi: "I'm thinking of you too."

It's a small, bittersweet message, but it encapsulates everything she's feeling—hope, regret, and the remnants of love she still holds for him.

The announcement was made to board the plane, and Rajat takes one last look at the city he loves, a heaviness settling in his heart. Goodbye, Savi. Just then his phone rang and he was shocked and happy at the same time. He sprinted out of the airport with hope.

Back home, as Savi prepares for her engagement tomorrow, she knows she must face whatever comes next with an open heart. Even if it means letting go of what she once had with Rajat, she must be brave enough to embrace the path she's chosen.

But deep down, a part of her hopes this isn't truly the end, that somewhere along this journey, she might find a way to bring Rajat back into her life.

For now, she's caught between two worlds—one that feels safe and familiar, and another that calls to her heart, promising the possibility of true love.
